ITALIAN IRE VERBS PERFECT TENSE

(0)
GCSE ITALIAN -IRE VERBS PERFECT TENSE CONJUGATION PRACTICE (passasto prossimo) great for practice and consolidation in a range of contexts such as independent work either in class time or at home, holiday refresher work, or individual activities for cover lessons. There are 25 high-frequency regular and irregular -IRE verbs in the perfect tense (passato prossimo). The workbook focuses on the correct conjugation of verbs, rather than usage - students find that when they can immediately recall and produce the correct conjugation of a given verb, particularly out of context, they are really getting to grips with conjugation. The structure of the resource is as follows: Two alphabetical verb reference lists: Italian-English and Italian-English Three conjugation challenges, each with 50 individual conjugation questions, so 150 conjugation questions in total Conjugation Challenge 1: each verb conjugated across a range of pronouns, with students writing the corresponding English verb conjugation. Conjugation Challenge 2: gives the infinitive of each verb in Italian, specifying the target pronoun. Students write the corresponding verb conjugation. Conjugation Challenge 3: students write the corresponding Italian verb conjugation, and its infinitive form, from an English prompt. 6-page answer key, which is an integral element of the resource - it gives students an additional opportunity to engage with the language and grammar, and really helps them develop more independence in their learning. Notes and Next Steps template, which I encourage my students to visit regularly, reflecting not only on the verbs and conjugations they feel confident about, but also how they think their general skills in Italian might be developing through the activity - and equally importantly, what they can reasonably do to keep improving. ENGLISH DATES DAYS MONTHS SEASONS TASK CARDS

(0)
ESL EFL ENGLISH DATES DAYS MONTHS SEASONS TASK CARDS are perfect for advanced beginner English to intermediate English students, and really do help to create a lively language learning environment. Students can develop, embed, reinforce and refresh their knowledge of this essential English language in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, independently of the teacher. They have a bonus multi-skill focus on listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading and spelling. They’re great for helping students familiarize themselves with, and develop competence in, speaking, reading, writing and spelling in English in general, and certainly in English dates, days, months and seasons in particular. The questions range in complexity and challenge, and some call upon prior knowledge too, helping students make links and build bridges in their learning. There may be some words students are not familiar with - these questions give them the opportunity to learn and apply new language too. There is a significant amount of practice and consolidation of language and grammar, such as word order, punctuation, nuances of spoken versus written language, tense, and ordinal / cardinal numbers. This maximizes the learning potential of the activity, which I take further when we look at multiple choice questions seeking to identify errors - being able to identify errors, and explain what is inaccurate, is a really important language learning skill, and really helps students progress in their learning. The question card template enables students to apply their knowledge of language creatively and practically too - my students really enjoy creating questions for each other. ITALIAN REFLEXIVE VERBS LIST FREEBIE #1

(3)
GCSE ITALIAN KS4 ITALIAN KS3 ITALIAN REFLEXIVE VERBS LIST I give my language learners of all grades and learning phases a whole series of reference lists, that build up into a really comprehensive Italian vocabulary reference bank over the course of their language learning programme. They’re really popular with my students, as they know they can just go to their reference file or folder, and find what they need. They tell me that they feel far more confident about their Italian when they have a good grasp of core high-frequency Italian vocabulary. They’re great for quick Italian vocabulary quizzes too. There are of 25 high-frequency Italian reflexive verbs in the infinitive form, alphabetically both Italian-English and English-Italian - my students get these pretty much at the beginning of their program, even before we start to work on conjugation. If my group is small, and depending on the particular work we’re doing, I provide students with a set of double-sided and laminated reference resources. My language students all have a reference file or folder, again from the beginning of their learning, and part of helping them develop independence in, and responsibility for, their learning, is to give them opportunity to keep their learning resources in good order, and easily accessible. There are two backgrounds to choose from - Italian flag, which I tend to use for vocabulary display, and black wave. I use a background for vocab lists, as feedback from learners over the years suggests that a visual can be helpful when learning what can be a large amount of new Italian vocabulary. Have a browse in my store for more Italian vocabulary lists, and a wide range of other Italian teaching and learning materials, with special offer bundles, resource boxes, and lots of freebies too! ITALIAN DAYS OF THE WEEK WORD SEARCH FREEBIE

(2)
PRIMARY ITALIAN KS3 ITALIAN DAYS OF THE WEEK WORD SEARCH Word searches are a fabulous way of encouraging learners to engage with the written word in Italian, refreshing and reinforcing language as they complete the grids. This freebie features a word search focusing on the days of the week in Italian, key beginner vocabulary for Italian learners. This search grid is***Italian to English***, where learners are prompted with the Italian words, and look for them in Italian in the grid. For additional consolidation, the grid also features an English word list that they have to complete, really putting students’ knowledge to the test! Students can tell in which direction the words are written by looking at the arrow key on each grid. Having a good bilingual dictionary to hand is also a good idea, as this provides a further focus on developing literacy in both Italian and English, and facilitates learner independence. There is an answer grid for the word search, so that students can check their answers - or use for a little extra help if they need it. Answer keys also provide students with an additional opportunity to engage with language, and they’re a great teacher time-saver too, which is always a good thing! The word search is in landscape format, as I’ve found this to be the best format for English-speaking beginner learners of Italian, as it mirrors the common direction of reading from left to right. This kind of activity is really versatile too, I use them as starters, refreshers, plenaries or fun-time fillers at any time during the school year, as well as when I’m introducing days of the week in Italian. PRIMARY SPANISH NUMBERS Los números cero - diez: diez sopas de letras! My Primary Spanish learners really enjoy learning their vocab with word searches. In terms of pedagogy, they really are a great way of providing students with opportunities not only to embed their vocab, but also to engage with the written word and spelling in Spanish. They are really easy to differentiate, ensuring that students have a series of progressive challenges. I use word searches regularly, and have a stock of them ready in folders - they’re ready to go for starters, refreshers, plenaries, fun-time fillers or activities for cover lessons, at any time during the school year, as well as when I’m introducing numbers in Spanish - ideal for high school beginner Spanish too. In this set, there are five Spanish to Spanish grids, with the Spanish words as prompts. Students then find them in Spanish in the grid. A great way of really consolidating vocab is to get students to complete the word list on the grid sheet too. There are also five English to Spanish grids. With these, the prompt words are in English, so students have to know the correct Spanish word in order to find it in the grid. There’s a word list to complete on these too. As the challenge increases, the words appear in an increasing number of different directions, and students can identify which directions they’re looking for by referring to the arrow key on each grid. I always give my students answer keys for this kind of activity - they help students develop more independence in their learning, give them an additional chance to engage with the language, and they really enjoy correcting their own and each others’ work! The word searches are in landscape format, as this mirrors the common direction of reading from left to right, and in my experience, this is really useful for young beginner Spanish learners, as they begin to familiarize themselves with the written word in Spanish. ITALIAN ARE VERBS PERFECT TENSE

GCSE ITALIAN KS4 ITALIAN KS3 ITALIAN PERFECT TENSE ARE VERBS CONJUGATION PRACTICE FOCUS ON 25 HIGH-FREQUENCY ITALIAN -ARE VERBS My students really like this kind of grammar activity, as they like to work and learn independently, which is a successful way of varying teaching and learning methodologies - I’ve found it’s really important to avoid predominantly teacher-led learning in the languages classroom. There are 150 conjugations across 3 differentiated conjugation challenges. I use these kinds of workbooks in lots of different ways: for practice during the introduction phase, for independent choice in class time, for home learning, for practice and revision during vacation and at return to class, and for cover lessons - they’re really versatile, and ideal for advanced KS3 Italian students who are beginning to work with more complex texts which don’t focus solely on the present tense. Though the workbook focuses solely on the correct conjugation of verbs, and does not look at word order in the context of full sentences, there are conjugation patterns that students can learn, recognise and apply, ensuring that their spoken and written Italian is accurate, and that their understanding of Italian across the skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing is robust. The resource is structured as follows: Two alphabetical verb reference lists: Italian-English and English-Italian. Three conjugation challenges, each with 50 individual conjugations: Conjugation Challenge 1: each verb conjugated in Italian across a range of pronouns, with students writing the corresponding English verb conjugation. Conjugation Challenge 2: gives the infinitive of each verb in Italian, specifying the target pronoun. Students write the corresponding verb conjugation in Italian. Conjugation Challenge 3: students write the corresponding Italian verb conjugation, and its infinitive, from an English prompt. PRIMARY GERMAN DAYS MONTHS SEASONS WORD WALL

PRIMARY GERMAN WORD WALL VOCABULARY DISPLAY GERMAN DAYS MONTHS SEASONS WORD WALL This German word wall display creates an instant introduction to the days of the week and the months and seasons of the year in German, and really brightens up the learning environment too. I like to share essential vocab that we can use in everyday language with my young learners from the beginning of their learning. We use them not only when we’re introducing and practising days, months and seasons, but also for developing German language skills and awareness in general. We talk a lot about the similarities and differences in the different languages, such as the use of capital letters, and we look very closely for cognates too. These are ideal for both the Primary German classroom, as well as the Year 7 German / beginner high school German classroom. There are two cards per 8.5 x 11 (A4) page in landscape format - the words are definitely big enough for children to be able to read from various locations in the classroom, which enables me to really get the most from my word walls - we do lots of quick vocab quizzes, spelling games and pronunciation practice for example. There are two backgrounds to choose from - German flag or black wave. I definitely recommend that you print on card stock and/or laminate for longevity - you’ll be able to enjoy your *German Days, Months and Seasons Word Wall *for years to come! ADVANCED ITALIAN INTERMEDIATE ITALIAN CONJUGATION PRACTICE PLUPERFECT TENSE The workbook focuses on 25 high-frequency regular and irregular verbs Italian ARE verbs in the pluperfect tense (trapassato prossimo). There are three differentiated ‘quick conjugation’ challenges, each with 50 conjugation questions, so 150 conjugations in total. My students really enjoy learning and practicing their conjugation skills with these kinds of workbooks, and I’ve created a series of them that they can access whenever they feel they need to do a little extra work on their conjugation. There’s also a 6-page answer key workbook - for me, answer keys are an integral element of the learning process with this kind of activity - they certainly help students develop more independence in their learning (and they do enjoy correcting their own and particularly each others’ work!), and they give students further opportunity to engage with the learning focus.
