PRIMARY LATIN NUMBERS ROMAN NUMERALS POSTERS

(2)
PRIMARY LATIN NUMBERS ROMAN NUMERALS 1-20 POSTERS FLASHCARDS My young Latin learners love the colourful display, which give the classroom a great Latin look and feel. Giving your learning environment a Latin ’look’ also promotes Latin as a ’real’ language, featuring in the everyday life of the students. We use them for counting, spelling and memory games too. They're also ideal as flashcards, and I often use them to introduce and practise language, particularly with smaller groups, as I don't like to use the whiteboard all the time. Using flashcards to introduce and practise language is a really successful directed teaching and learning activity. I like to vary the words for Latin numbers with Roman Numerals - it's a fantastic way of developing both language and numeracy skills in general. The flashcards/posters introduce learners to Numbers 1-20 & Roman Numerals in Latin from the very beginning of their learning, and they are able to familiarise themselves with both the ‘look’ of Latin words, and how they are represented in the written form. Additionally, they provide an opportunity to create some great cross-curricular activities with maths! I’ve used some generic images, and well as some with a classical civilisation feel, which we use to discuss both Roman and Greek civilisation. There are two backgrounds to choose from: colour or black wave. Laminate and/or print on card stock - the posters will last for years, and they're definitely easier to manipulate as flashcards. PRIMARY GERMAN KS3 GERMAN CHRISTMAS ACTIVITIES BEGINNER GERMAN VOCABULARY CARDS & QUIZ featuring 99 beginner German words and phrases, 198 matching German and English Santa cards and whole-group multi-skill vocabulary quiz with 60 questions The Christmas-theme cards work really well for revision and practice - my students find the Santa cards fun and motivating! There are 198 matching German and English vocabulary cards, which is definitely quite a bit of prep. I always laminate my vocabulary cards, they are far more learner-friendly, and last for absolutely years, so it’s worth the extra prep time and expense. There a lots of different games students can play entirely independently, and I’ve outlined a selection that work well for us. My students really like to work together, in pairs or in small groups, moving away from more teacher-led activities. The games enable them to practice and consolidate their key beginner German vocabulary in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, and they really do create a lively language learning environment. Students can have either an entire set, depending on the size of their learning group, or particular collections of cards, according to the vocabulary theme. I’ve described the set as not grade-specific, because the content depends on the particular learning stage your students have reached, or are working towards. The vocabulary in this set focuses on: die Begrüßungen die Tage der Woche die Monate des Jahres die vier Jahreszeiten die Zahlen 0 bis 31 die Farben die Länder The set comprises: 198 matching German and English Santa cards, each with a particular word or phrase from the above vocabulary groups 60-question whole-group multi-skill quiz, with a range of questions such as Wie sagt man … auf Englisch? There are 20 animals: the mouse the horse the dog the cat the crocodile the bird the fish the frog the pig the cow the tortoise/turtle the tiger the elephant the giraffe the lion the rabbit the monkey the chicken the spider the zebra There are 21 non-editable files: 40 picture-only bingo 12-square grids, 4 per page (10 pages), in both colour and B&W. HAPPY CHRISTMAS MULTILINGUAL BUNTING

(2)
CHRISTMAS IS COMING! Create a fabulous and festive multilingual Christmas feel in your learning environment with HAPPY CHRISTMAS BUNTING IN 30 LANGUAGES! I’ve used the Latin alphabet throughout. Print the bunting on card stock if possible, as it will hang really nicely, and last a lot longer! Paper is fine too as an alternative. The bunting hangs best using mini-pegs on string, but also looks good pinned directly to walls as a horizontal poster display. I like to cut out the triangle shape, particularly if I’m hanging the bunting on string across a particular space, but you can also print out and hang as an A4 poster if you prefer, as that’s a little less prep-intensive! B&W works well, but colour is best if possible! The languages featured are: Albanian Bulgarian Catalan Croatian Czech Danish English Esperanto Estonian Finnish French German Greek Icelandic Irish Gaelic Lithuanian Norwegian Polish Portuguese Romanian Russian Scottish Gaelic Serbian Spanish Swedish Welsh The resource consists of a single, non-editable file, and is copyright - it may not be copied or shared in any way. FRENCH ER VERBS PERFECT TENSE

(1)
GCSE FRENCH KS4 FRENCH KS3 FRENCH PERFECT TENSE CONJUGATION PRACTICE featuring 25 high-frequency French -ER verbs My students really like this kind of grammar activity, as they like to work and learn independently, which is a successful way of varying teaching and learning methodologies - I’ve found it’s really important to avoid predominantly teacher-led learning in the languages classroom. There are 150 conjugations across 3 differentiated conjugation challenges with complete answer key. The workbook focuses on the mechanics of conjugation, rather than usage, but I find it useful to remind students of a number of things when focusing on or revising tense and verb conjugation. For example, language learners do often try to conflate what they know about grammar in their first language with the language they are learning, and with students whose first language is English, I frequently see students confusing the use of the auxiliaries avoir and être for example. Students do need to to have a good grasp of the auxiliary verbs in the present tense to ensure that they can form the perfect tense accurately. In terms of the past participle, students begin to be able to predict it accurately, the more they see it, and construct it. I also refer frequently the differences in usage between English and French in the perfect tense, which are quite significant. The resource is structured as follows: Two alphabetical verb reference lists: French-English and English-French Three conjugation challenges, each with 50 individual conjugations: Conjugation Challenge 1: each verb conjugated in French across a range of pronouns, with students writing the corresponding English verb conjugation Conjugation Challenge 2: gives the infinitive of each verb in French, specifying the target pronoun. Students write the corresponding verb conjugation in French Conjugation Challenge 3: students write the corresponding French verb conjugation, and its infinitive, from an English prompt Notes and Next Steps template which students visit regularly - it really does encourage them to think about where they are now, how confident they feel, and what they might need to work on a little more to be absolutely sure of their conjugation skills answer key Have a browse in my store for more French grammar activities, and a wide range of other French teaching and learning resources, with special offer bundles, resource boxes, and lots of freebies too! GERMAN REFLEXIVE VERBS PRESENT TENSE

(1)
GCSE GERMAN KS3 GERMAN KS4 GERMAN REFLEXIVE VERBS PRESENT TENSE 25 high-frequency German reflexive verbs, 150 conjugation questions, 3 differentiated challenges, answer keys ideal for KS3 German KS4 German students who are beginning to work with compound sentences and longer texts, and generally developing their knowledge and understanding of conjugation and tense in German. My students really like this kind of grammar activity, as they like to work and learn independently, which is a successful way of varying teaching and learning methodologies - I’ve found it’s really important to avoid predominantly teacher-led learning in the languages classroom. The workbook focuses on the correct conjugation of verbs, rather than usage, but I definitely find it useful to remind students of a number of things when focusing on or revising tense and verb conjugation. For example, with the German present tense, I encourage students to look for patterns across all the verbs, such as the singular pronouns, including the pronoun man form being identical, pointing out also that man is commonly used in German, often also meaning we, unlike the pronoun one in English. Students do often try to conflate what they know about conjugation, and I frequently see attempts such as ich bin mich waschen for I am getting washed or similarly***ich mache / tue mich erinnern*** for I do remember. The workbook comprises the following: Two alphabetical verb reference lists: German-English and English-German. Three conjugation challenges, each with 50 individual conjugations: Conjugation Challenge 1: each verb conjugated in German across a range of pronouns, with students writing the corresponding English verb conjugation. Conjugation Challenge 2: gives the infinitive of each verb in German, specifying the target pronoun. Students write the corresponding verb conjugation in German. Conjugation Challenge 3: students write the corresponding German verb conjugation, and its infinitive, from an English prompt. I use these kinds of workbooks in lots of different ways: for practice during the introduction phase, for independent choice in class time, for home learning, for practice and revision during vacation and at return to class, and for cover lessons - they’re really versatile, and ideal for KS3 Italian students who are getting to grips with conjugation in Italian, and building their Italian verb vocabulary. Though the workbook focuses solely on the correct conjugation of verbs, and does not look at word order in the context of full sentences, there are conjugation patterns that students can learn, recognise and apply, ensuring that their spoken and written Italian is accurate, and that their understanding of Italian across the skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing is robust. The resource is structured as follows: Two alphabetical verb reference lists: Italian-English and English-Italian. NUMBERS 0-20 ADDITION & SUBTRACTION CARDS

(1)
**MATHS FOR EARLY YEARS - ADDITION AND SUBTRACTION NUMBERS 0-20 GAMES CARDS - PERFECT FOR DEVELOPING NUMERACY SKILLS - 72 CALCULATIONS ** MONSTER MATHS MATCHING GAME CARDS are perfect for practising addition and subtraction, focusing on numbers up to 20. Children can work together or alone, challenging each other and themselves to calculate correctly in order to find the right answer. The monster theme is really popular with children too, and the physical nature of the games is effective for all learners, particularly those who tend to favour kinaesthetic learning activities. I’ve found that the games work particularly well for small group and intervention or additional support work. They’re perfect for rainy day games both at school and at home too! Children enjoy working both at their own pace, and also sometimes with a little competitive edge in teams, using a timer to really challenge themselves - can they beat their own time record? Revisit regularly to map both improved number recognition and calculation skill, as well as increasing confidence. The question cards are numbered, which helps children track their responses when they refer to the answer key. Having access to the answer key helps facilitate both self– and peer assessment in the matching game, and enables children to become a little more independent in their learning. They can easily identify which questions and responses are either addition or subtraction by looking for the +/- sign, and also the position of the monster on the card. Laminate the cards and answer keys if you can - you’ll be able to use them for years to come! I’ve included both a colour and a B&W version of the cards and answer keys, which is helpful if you need to keep prep costs down. This resource consists of four non-editable files in a zipped format. Please read the Terms of Use carefully - this resource is copyright, all rights reserved. It may not be copied, rewritten, shared or distributed in any way. FRENCH CHRISTMAS ACTIVITIES - CHRISTMAS IS ON ITS WAY! 99 BEGINNERS FRENCH WORDS & PHRASES, 198 MATCHING FRENCH & ENGLISH VOCAB CARDS WITH A 60-QUESTION MULTI-SKILL QUIZ! I think students appreciate the chance to try something new in lessons during the run-up to Christmas, and I always have several sets of vocab cards that they can revisit language we learnt earlier in the year - it really is the perfect time to practice and consolidate knowledge. The Christmas theme gets them feeling pretty festive, and they’re more than happy to work independently together, selecting the areas of vocab they feel they’d like to focus on. There are lots of games they enjoy playing, and I’ve described several that are really popular. The quiz works well as a whole-group quiz, but I always give my students a pdf version that they can load on to tablets to play the quiz in small groups if they prefer to do it that way. The French vocabulary I’ve focused on here is a selection of: Les salutations Les jours de la semaine Les mois de l’année Les quatre saisons de l’année Les nombres 0 à 31 Les couleurs Quelques pays du monde Please read the Terms of Use carefully. PRIMARY LATIN ANIMALS CARDS

(1)
IDEAL FOR DEVELOPING CONFIDENCE AND PRACTISING LANGUAGE SKILLS IN LATIN! LATIN ANIMALS GAMES CARDS are perfect for young learners of LATIN. They provide lots of opportunities to learn a range of animals, both masculine and feminine, and really do help to create a lively language learning environment. Children can develop their skills in word recognition and recall, listening and reading in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, independently of the teacher. They’re a great way of introducing the concept of gender, and of looking at the general absence of determiners in LATIN too. It doesn’t matter if any of the animals don’t feature in your immediate or even longer-term learning plan: the card games encourage children to engage happily and confidently with LATIN and to begin to identify similarities with ENGLISH - encourage children to look for cognates and near-cognates such as DINOSAURUS and ELEPHANTUS for example. The games also help learners begin to work out the meaning of unknown words using linguistic as well as visual clues and prompts. For example, can they recognise CANINE from the LATIN word for dog? They may even know the adjective VULPINE - can they identify this from the noun for fox, VULPES? Along the way, children may even get to know some new animals and enhance their vocabulary in English too! There are 80 CARDS in total, which include 2 DECKS of 40 CARDS to enable you to vary and differentiate your games: DECK 1: matching LATIN & ENGLISH cards, with both the picture and the word. The ENGLISH cards have a different frame, with blackline pictures. To keep costs down, simply print all the cards using just black ink. DECK 2: this pack features word-only cards in LATIN, with a matching set of picture-only cards. This is really useful for a focus on word recognition and recall. I’ve included a word & picture reference sheet for children to read through before they play. The sheet can be shared between small groups of children, or distributed individually for children to file in their workbooks or learning folders for future reference. The animals featured are: - bee - bird - cat - cow - dinosaur - dog - donkey - elephant - fish - fox - frog - giraffe - goose - horse - lion - mouse - owl - rabbit - spider - whale The resource consists of two, non-editable files. ITALIAN ARE VERBS IMPERFECT TENSE

GCSE ITALIAN KS4 ITALIAN KS3 ITALIAN -ARE VERBS IMPERFECT TENSE My students really like this kind of grammar activity, as they like to work and learn independently, which is a successful way of varying teaching and learning methodologies - I’ve found it’s really important to avoid predominantly teacher-led learning in the languages classroom. There are 150 conjugations across 3 differentiated conjugation challenges. I use these kinds of workbooks in lots of different ways: for practice during the introduction phase, for independent choice in class time, for home learning, for practice and revision during vacation and at return to class, and for cover lessons - they’re really versatile, and ideal for advanced KS3 Italian and KS4 Italian students who are beginning to work with more complex texts, including a range of tenses. Three conjugation challenges, each with 50 individual conjugations: Conjugation Challenge 1: each verb conjugated in Italian across a range of pronouns, with students writing the corresponding English verb conjugation. Conjugation Challenge 2: gives the infinitive of each verb in Italian, specifying the target pronoun. Students write the corresponding verb conjugation in Italian. Conjugation Challenge 3: students write the corresponding Italian verb conjugation, and its infinitive, from an English prompt. Notes and Next Steps template which students visit regularly - it really does encourage them to think about where they are now, how confident they feel, and what they might need to work on a little more to be absolutely sure of their conjugation skills. We also note down any new verbs we meet, which enables students to build up their own verb vocabulary bank. answer key Try this free Italian conjugation workbook sampler to see if it’s the kind of learning activity that will work well for your students: ITALIAN CONJUGATION PRACTICE SAMPLER https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/italian-conjugation-practice-sampler-12359601 The product is non-editable in a zipped format. PRIMARY FRENCH TELLING TIME POSTERS FLASHCARDS #1

PRIMARY FRENCH TELLING TIME DISPLAY POSTERS These telling the time posters / flashcards are perfect for creating an instant introduction to telling the time in FRENCH. I’ve found that they’re really useful as visual prompts during lessons, as well as keeping the language fresh as students are introduced and practise how to tell the time. They’re ideal at any time during the school year, but especially as a BACK TO SCHOOL classroom decor resource - it’s good for students to have a focus on FRENCH in their learning environment - ideal for Primary French and Year 7 Beginner French too. The times are o’clock and half past the hour, including midday and midnight. There are two backgrounds to choose from - French flag or black wave, so 56 posters / flashcards in total. Laminate them if you can - they are definitely easier to manipulate if you’re using as flashcards to introduce and/or practise language, and also to display - you’ll be able to use them over and over again for years too.
