The product is free to download, but Terms of Use still apply. I encourage my beginner Italian students of all ages and stages to build up comprehensive vocabulary banks that they can reference easily whenever they need it, and they’re also really useful for regular vocabulary audits, which really helps students map their progress and keep track of their learning. Students take responsibility for organizing their own learning materials from the very beginning of their learning, keeping them carefully in vocabulary learning binders or folders. My students all have reference resource folders or files - these can have a range of formats - for instance, sticking into a large exercise book, or punching holes down the left-hand side, and adding to files (we also use twine or thick string). I also use this kind of vocabulary list for quick vocabulary quizzes, spelling competitions and so on, and it also works well laminated for small-group work in class time. This particular sheet is for my more experienced Italian learners, who’ve been learning Italian for a while - all the numbers are on a single page in landscape format, so the font is fairly small, but they’re comfortable with quite a bit of text on a single page. Beginner language learners do need to have language very clearly accessible, and I’ve also uploaded a version that I give my absolute beginner Italian learners, with the numbers are across two pages in portrait format: ITALIAN NUMBERS 0-100 LIST FREEBIE #1 https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/italian-numbers-0-100-list-freebie-1-12293894 There are two backgrounds to choose from - Italian flag, which I generally use for Italian vocabulary display, and plain. It may not be copied, rewritten, amended, shared or distributed outside your own classroom. The license is a single-user license only. Please read the Terms of Use. The resource is free to download, but Terms of Use still apply. I like to give visual vocabulary lists to my young beginner learners of French, as they can generally more easily assimilate new language and vocabulary when they are able to link it in their memory with a visual image, and it’s particularly important to match a clock time with the corresponding clock face when learning how to tell the time. Children glue the lists into their French vocabulary books, or file them in their French vocabulary folders with other vocabulary lists, which gives them an accessible and useful French vocabulary reference bank for both class and home learning. For young and / or beginner French learners, I focus initially on a single time set, and this list shows o’clock on a single page. This is because in my experience students benefit from a very clear outline of new language and vocabulary, avoiding lots of text on a single page - even my older students who are completely new to French prefer this. When I’m sure that students are confident with o’clock, I then move on to additional time sets. The resource is free to download, but Terms of Use still apply. I like to have sets of super simple worksheets that I can give to my Primary French and beginner KS3 French students, not only when they’re new to the target vocabulary, but also for refreshing and revising language they’ve learnt some time ago. Students can generally more easily assimilate new language and vocabulary when they are able to link it in their memory with a visual image, and it’s particularly important to match a clock time with the corresponding clock face when learning how to tell the time. I give my students these worksheets at the same time as introducing quarter to the hour in French, so that they can practise and embed both recognizing the time, and writing the time phrase itself. Students really enjoy the opportunity to test their recall too. The worksheets are useful in a number of contexts: I use them for cover lessons, as starters, plenaries, five-minute refreshers and home learning activities. I occasionally use them for more formal assessment purposes too. Students find this How to tell the time in French quarter to the hour list freebie helpful: TELLING THE TIME IN FRENCH QUARTER TO THE HOUR LIST https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/french-telling-the-time-quarter-to-list-freebie-12867062 Have a look at this reference guide for telling the time in French, every analogue clock time with matching clock faces (£3): TELLING THE TIME IN FRENCH REFERENCE GUIDE https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/french-telling-time-reference-book-12644907 Have a browse in my store for more French super simple worksheets, and a wide range of other French teaching and learning materials, with French resource boxes, special offer bundles, and lots of freebies. KS3 FRENCH VERBS KS4 FRENCH VERBS GCSE FRENCH VERBS HIGH-FREQUENCY FRENCH VERBS LIST FREEBIE Files are non-editable in a zipped format. The product is copyright, all rights reserved. It may not be copied, rewritten, amended, shared or distributed in any way outside your own classroom. Please read the Terms of Use. The product is free to download, but Terms of Use still apply. 25 high-frequency French verbs, listed alphabetically French-English and English-French ideal as a year-round reference resource, and students find it particularly useful for exam revision, whether working in class time or at home. It’s useful for advanced beginner French students to provide a language learning map and for intermediate French students who are working with more complex language and texts, including authentic resources, and as a French vocabulary audit and enrichment. The verbs are all in the infinitive form and feature high-frequency French verbs that I work with in the advanced beginner to intermediate stages of my French learning programs. It’s important in language learning to ensure that students quickly develop a useful verb vocabulary bank, are able to recognise high-frequency verbs, and are confident with the meaning of those verbs in their first or home language. At that point students can move swiftly on to looking at conjugation and using the verbs in a communicative and practical context, enabling them to produce more detailed and descriptive language. This is an integral element to successful language learning. Students shouldn’t take on the task of learning long lists of verbs or other vocabulary all at once though: frequent and regular use in real-world practical contexts is far more successful at embedding vocabulary into longer-term memory. I also use the books for quick vocabulary quizzes, again at frequent and regular intervals - I simply shout out the French or English verb, the first student or team to shout out the correct answer wins a point. I’ve found this to be a really successful alternative to more formal vocabulary testing. The list is a great time-saver for teachers too - if you’re preparing resources focusing on high-frequency French verbs for your students, the list is a good starting point. There are two backgrounds to choose from - French flag, which I generally use for French vocabulary display or French grammar display, and plain. Perfect for young learners of Spanish and an ideal introduction to the animal kingdom in Spanish. They provide lots of opportunities to learn a range of animals, both***masculine and feminine***, and really do help to create a lively language learning environment. Children can develop their skills in word recognition and recall, pronunciation, speaking, listening and reading in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, independently of the teacher. They’re a great way of introducing the concept of gender, and of looking at the indefinite article in Spanish too. It doesn’t matter is any of the animals don’t feature in your immediate or even longer-term learning plan: the card games encourage children to engage happily and confidently with Spanish, to identify cognates and near-cognates, and to begin to link spelling with sound in Spanish. They also help learners begin to work out the meaning of unknown words using both visual clues and prompts, as well as linguistic indicators. There are 24 animals featured, across a series of decks, which enable you to vary and differentiate your games: Deck 1: picture and words cards, with both an image of, and the word for, the animal in Spanish, which is useful for multi-skill learning, particularly in the introductory phase of learning animal vocabulary, and for familiarising students with the written word in Spanish. Deck 2: picture-only cards, useful for vocabulary recall Deck 3: word-only cards in French, useful for word recognition, reading and spelling. Deck 4: word-only cards in English, useful for a variety of games focusing on vocabulary recall Deck 5: both Spanish & English words on a single card, useful for close comparison of language, and recognition of corresponding words The animals featured are: a bee : a bird : a butterfly : a cat : a caterpillar : a chicken : a cow : a dog a donkey : a duck : a fish : a fox : a frog : a horse : a kangaroo : a monkey a mouse : an owl : a parrot : a pig : a rabbit : a sheep : a spider : a turtle / tortoise Have a browse in my store for more Spanish games cards, and a wide range of other Spanish teaching and learning materials, with Spanish resource boxes, special offer bundles and lots of freebies. ¡MUCHAS GRACIAS Y BUEN APRENDIZAJE!

GCSE ITALIAN KS4 ITALIAN KS3 ITALIAN HIGH-FREQUENCY ITALIAN VERBS LIST FREEBIE 25 high-frequency Italian verbs, listed alphabetically Italian-English and English-Italian ideal as a year-round reference resource, and students find it particularly useful for exam revision, whether working in class time or at home. It’s useful for advanced beginner Italian students to provide a language learning map, and for intermediate Italian students who are working with more complex language and texts, including authentic resources, and as a vocabulary audit and enrichment. The verbs are all in the infinitive form and include regular and irregular high-frequency Italian verbs. I’ve noted where a verb is conjugated with essere, which is a really handy quick guide to the particular features of the verb, and useful for later learning when we look at conjugation, such as the passato prossimo for example. It’s important in language learning to ensure that students quickly develop a useful Italian verb vocabulary bank, are able to recognize high-frequency Italian verbs, and are confident with the meaning of those verbs in their first or home language. At that point students can move swiftly on to looking at conjugation and using the verbs in a communicative and practical context, enabling them to produce more detailed and descriptive language. This is an integral element to successful language learning. I’ve found that vocabulary lists are a great language learning support resource, and they’re really popular with students too. They work well when students keep them carefully in learning files or folders for current and future reference, either in class or at home. They also work well printed double-sided and laminated for small-group work in class. The list is a great time-saver for teachers too - if you’re preparing resources focusing on high-frequency Italian verbs for your students, the list is a good starting point. The resource is free to download, but Terms of Use still apply. * Perfect for developing German language skills in general, as well as for practising and revising numbers 0-31 in German - there are 12 differentiated questions, answer key and recording sheet. I’ve found that Christmas is a great time to revisit language we started with a couple of months before, and these are ideal for that. The cards have a bonus multi-skill focus on listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading and spelling, and really help students develop more independence in their learning, moving away from more teacher-led tasks and activities. Challenge cards are really versatile too - we use them not only when we’re focusing on the target vocab, but throughout the year as starters and refreshers. The goal is not simply to learn and practise how to count in German, but also to enjoy working with language, and to feel confident about doing so. The questions range in complexity and challenge, and are great for honing numeracy skills too - especially if calculators are not allowed! I use the cards with my Primary German, and also my KS3 German learners. I’ve used a range of Christmas-theme images as visual clues for learners, Knecht Ruprecht and Weihnachtsmann - most of the questions are in German, so it’s really important to give learners appropriate support, and they’re great for stimulating discussion about German Christmas traditions and vocabulary. There’s a colour set, and also a blackline set. The license for purchase is a single-user license only. The vocabulary groups are: = verbes français = nombres 81-100 = Quelle heure est-il ? (half past) = en ville = adjectifs = conversation / questions et réponses There are 198 cards in total, and although it’s time-consuming, it’s definitely worth the time to laminate the cards, as they’re far sturdier, and last for years! I give my students a vocab workbook too, and this one has 3 differentiated challenges, as well as a full alphabetical French-English list, which we use as a year-round reference resource as well. There are 3 differentiated recall and write challenges in the workbook - my students really benefit from writing out vocabulary independently, and at their own pace - I often give multiple workbooks over a school year - it’s a really successful way of consolidating vocab, as well as practising spelling. There’s a card template too - students enjoy creating game/quiz cards for each other, applying their knowledge in a different way. Written Recall Challenge One: students write the English word /phrase from a French prompt, with all the words and phrases grouped together in the same category Written Recall Challenge Two: with this challenge, students write the words/phrases in French from an English prompt, and again, they’re all group together in the same category Written Recall Challenge Three: this final challenge ‘switches’ at each question from French to English, and lists words and phrases randomly from each category - I’ve found that this really does encourage my students to think hard about their French vocab. The games enable them to practice and consolidate their key beginner German vocabulary in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, and they really do create a lively language learning environment. Students can have either an entire set, depending on the size of their learning group, or particular collections of cards, according to the vocabulary theme. I’ve described the set as not grade-specific, because the content depends on the particular learning stage your students have reached, or are working towards. These are whole-group lively & communicative language learning games, ideal for practising, reinforcing and consolidating 99 high-frequency French verbs. The games have a multi-skill focus: listening, speaking and reading, with an important bonus focus on social interaction and participation. They’re perfect for pronunciation practice too. Active learning is a really successful way of developing both language skills and general confidence. The Christmas-theme is really popular around the holidays. The verbs are in the infinitive form, and the aim of the games is to create a French verb chain as quickly as possible. There are two games, each with a slightly different challenge: Challenge 1: verbs are in alphabetical order, with the question and answer format: J’ai… Qui a… ? Challenge 2: verbs are in random order, with the question and answer format: As-tu… ? Oui/Non, j’ai… In both challenges, the English translation of the verb appears immediately below the French verbs, which maximises opportunity for really embedding vocabulary. The game works just as well if the cards are placed on a longish table, or other flat surface. I created the games for my advanced beginner French learners, who are ready to move towards intermediate French, but I’ve also played them with my more advanced learners, who really enjoy ’going back to the start’ and having the opportunity to get up, walk about and talk - the games definitely provide some essential variety in learning activities. There is an alphabetical French-English verb list, featuring all the verbs used in the game. This is useful as a longer-term reference resource too. The questions range in complexity and challenge in terms of language and calculation, though they are designed for advanced beginner Italian language learners, who will generally be more advanced in their maths skills. The question card template enables students to apply their knowledge of language and arithmetic creatively and practically too - my students really enjoy creating questions for each other. All the questions are in Italian, which really helps students develop language awareness skills, use their prior learning to progress current learning, and encouraging them to infer meaning from context. They offer an interactive and communicative alternative to 'traditional' vocabulary and grammar drilling activities. The games and activities really do help to create a lively and multi-skill language learning environment. My students have always really enjoyed working and learning independently with each other, and found it a really successful way of embedding vocabulary. The alphabetical German-English reference lists of all 297 verbs work well as a year-round learning support resource. The cards are versatile, and can be used for a number of language learning games; I’ve described several games and activities that have worked well with my students. They're great for a ready-made quick vocabulary quiz too. The game card template lets students to apply their knowledge of German verbs a little more practically as they create cards for each other. There are 3 differentiated recall challenges: Written Recall Challenge One: students recall and write the English verb from a German verb prompt. The verbs are in alphabetical order. Written Recall Challenge Two: again, students recall and write the English verb from a German verb prompt, though the German verbs are in random, rather than alphabetical order. Students do often learn new vocabulary in alphabetical order, so it's important to work on recall in random order too. Written Recall Challenge Three: this challenge gives an English prompt, and students recall and write the corresponding German verb, which engages their recall slightly differently, and is a great way of perfecting spelling too. I give my students regular opportunities to revisit the games and workbooks, and to note their progress on the Notes and Next Steps template. We use this to reflect on learning and progress, and to set targets - It's a really successful way of embedding vocabulary, and of mapping progress. Students also note any new verbs they learn, helping them build a really impressive verb vocabulary bank. It's a really useful tool to guide and inform whole-group discussion about learning, which is a really popular activity too. The cards do take some prep – printing, laminating and cutting out. It's really worth the effort though, as the cards last for years! Each workbook has 18 pages, and is print and photocopy. VIELEN DANK UND VIEL SPAß BEIM LERNEN!

I use these kinds of workbooks in lots of different ways: for practice during the introduction phase, for independent choice in class time, for home learning, for practice and revision during vacation and at return to class, and for cover lessons - they're really versatile, and ideal for KS3 French students who are getting to grips with conjugation in French, and beginning to work with compound sentences and texts. The workbooks focus on the mechanics of conjugation, rather than usage, and I've found that when my students are able to provide the correct conjugation very quickly, and out of a specific context, they feel really confident that their conjugation skills are developing well. I've included a couple of -GER and -CER verbs to ensure students are able to practice the addition of an E and Ç in the present tense nous form - I've found that students do need a little extra help with those. The resource is structured as follows: * Two alphabetical verb reference lists: French-English and English-French. * Three conjugation challenges, each with 50 individual conjugations: = Conjugation Challenge 1: each verb conjugated in French across a range of pronouns, with students writing the corresponding English verb conjugation. = Conjugation Challenge 2: gives the infinitive of each verb in French, specifying the target pronoun. Students write the corresponding verb conjugation in French. = Conjugation Challenge 3: students write the corresponding French verb conjugation, and its infinitive, from an English prompt. = Notes and Next Steps template encourages students to reflect on learning and progress = answer key Have a browse in my store for more French resources, including special offer bundles, resource boxes, and freebies.
