ITALIAN DAYS MONTHS SEASONS LIST FREEBIE

(2)
PRIMARY ITALIAN KS3 ITALIAN VOCABULARY DAYS, MONTHS, SEASONS I create a lot of essential vocab lists for my language students, as they find them really useful, both in the classroom and at home. The lists work well when students keep them carefully in learning files or folders for current and future reference. They also work well printed double-sided and laminated for small-group work in class. There are two backgrounds to choose from - Italian flag, which I tend to use for target vocabulary display, or black wave. I use a background for vocabulary lists quite a lot, because it does make them more visually appealing, which is really important for language learners who do have a lot of vocabulary to learn. Have a browse in my store for more Italian vocabulary lists and a wide range of other Italian teaching and learning materials, with special offer bundles, resource boxes, and lots of freebies too! It may not be copied, rewritten, amended, shared or distributed outside your own classroom. The license is a single-user license only. The resource is free to download, but Terms of Use still apply. I like to have sets of super simple worksheets that I can give to my young beginner learners of Spanish, not only when they’re new to the target vocabulary, but also for refreshing and revising language they’ve learnt some time ago. Students can generally more easily assimilate new language and vocabulary when they are able to link it in their memory with a visual image. The worksheet is useful for consolidating both fruits vocabulary and spelling, and students really enjoy testing their recall. This kind of worksheet is really versatile: I use for cover lessons, as starters, plenaries, five-minute refreshers and home learning activities. There are two versions to choose from - colour, which makes the worksheet really visually appealing, or BW, which saves prep expense, and is also a popular activity with younger students, who like to colour as they read aloud, write and practise their i. Students like to have this Spanish fruits visual vocabulary list freebie too, which is great for practising reading and checking spelling in Spanish: SPANISH FRUITS VISUAL VOCABULARY LIST FREEBIE https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/primary-spanish-fruits-visual-vocabulary-list-freebie-12904491 Try this Spanish fruits word search freebie: SPANISH FRUITS WORD SEARCH FREEBIE https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/french-fruits-word-searches-freebie-12349143 Have a browse in my store for more Spanish super simple worksheets, and a wide range of other Spanish teaching and learning materials, with Spanish resource boxes, special offer bundles, and lots of freebies. ¡GRACIAS Y BUEN APRENDIZAJE!
LATIN VERBS LIST FREEBIE #1

LATIN VERBS LIST FREEBIE #1

(2)
GCSE LATIN KS4 LATIN KS3 LATIN VERBS I give my language learners of all grades and learning phases a whole series of vocabulary reference lists, that build up into a really comprehensive reference bank over the course of their Latin language learning programme. They’re really popular with my students, as they know they can just go to their reference file or folder, and find what they need. They tell me that they feel far more confident about their Latin when they have a good grasp of core vocabulary. They’re great for quick vocabulary quizzes too - simply shout out either a Latin or an English verb, and students respond with the corresponding verb. There are two alphabetical lists - one Latin-English, and one English-Latin, as I’ve found that language learners prefer to have both as a reference resource. There are two backgrounds to choose from - colour block (which I tend to use as part of a grammar display), and black wave - students tell me that this makes vocabulary lists more visually appealing, which is really useful when they’ve got a lot of vocabulary to work through and learn, and can be a real motivator for learning. If my group is small, I provide students with a set of double-sided and laminated reference resources. My students all have a reference file or folder, again from the beginning of their learning, and part of helping them develop independence in, and responsibility for, their learning, is to give them opportunity to keep their learning resources in good order, and easily accessible. This list is a collection of 25 high-frequency Latin verbs that I work with in the beginning to intermediate stages of Latin learning programmes. They include regular and irregular verbs, with some modal verbs. The verbs are all in the infinitive form - it’s an important step in learning is to ensure that students quickly develop a useful vocabulary bank, are able to recognize high-frequency Latin verbs, and are confident with the meaning of those verbs in English - at that point we can move swiftly on to looking at conjugation and using the verbs in a communicative and practical context. We also use our reference lists to help students audit their developing ***Latin ***verb vocabulary. Have a browse in my store for more Latin vocabulary lists, and a wide range of other Latin teaching and learning materials, with special offer bundles, resource boxes, and lots of freebies too! LATIN NUMBERS & ROMAN NUMERALS LIST FREEBIE #1

PRIMARY LATIN KS3 LATIN NUMBERS ROMAN NUMERALS 0-20 A great instant reference resource for students focusing on beginner Latin vocabulary. I’ve found that the lists are a great learning support resource, and they’re really popular with students too. They work well when students keep them carefully in learning files or folders for current and future reference. We use our reference lists to help students audit their developing beginner Latin vocabulary. They’re useful printed double-sided and laminated for small-group work in class. Numbers and Roman Numerals definitely provide lots of ***opportunities for cross-curricular learnin***g in class time, particularly with mental maths games, which really helps beginner Latin learners get to grips with the target vocabulary. There are two backgrounds to choose from: colour or black wave - I use the colour background for Latin vocabulary display, and I find that the wave background adds a ***visual appea***l to the vocabulary list, which can be a real motivator for learning, particularly when students have a lot of vocabulary to learn. SPANISH COLOURS FLASHCARDS FREEBIE #1

SPANISH COLOURS FLASHCARDS FREEBIE #1

(2)
PRIMARY SPANISH KS3 SPANISH KS2 SPANISH COLOURS FLASHCARDS POSTERS Los colores en español - 8 posters / flashcards These four my favourite colour posters make an ideal speaking prompt in the Spanish classroom - I encourage children to ask each other ¿Cuál es tu color favorito? as a lesson starter / warm-up, and to select a different colour every time they answer. As they learn more colours, their answers become more varied. I tend to introduce the plural form with the connective y (and) quite quickly, so that students can extend their answers as much as they possibly can - they have great fun seeing who knows the most colours, and can create the longest answers. The key colours are: blue, green, pink and yellow. There are two backgrounds to choose from - either the Spanish flag, or black wave. Laminate the posters if possible, or print on card stock, particularly if you’re going to use them as flashcards to introduce and practise language too: they’ll hang really nicely, stay in good shape, and you’ll be able to use the posters for many years to come! Use them as flashcards to introduce and practise language too - it’s a traditional and successful low-tech teaching method, which gives students a welcome break from the whiteboard - varying teaching methodologies in the language learning classroom is always a good idea, and I also encourage my students to take the role of the teacher too, which they find really motivating. It doesn’t matter if this particular language doesn’t feature in your immediate or even longer-term learning plan: the flashcards / posters provide learners with daily opportunities to engage with the written word in Spanish, to develop their recognition and recall of individual words, to identify cognates, and to begin to link spelling with sound in Spanish. Have a browse in my store for more Spanish flashcards / posters, and a wide range of other teaching and learning resources, with special offer bundles, resource boxes, and lots of freebies too! GERMAN SEPARABLE VERBS PRESENT TENSE CHALLENGE CARDS FREEBIE

(1)
KS3 GERMAN KS4 GERMAN GCSE GERMAN SEPARABLE VERBS PRESENT TENSE 12 CHALLENGE CARDS FREEBIE focusing on conjugating German separable verbs in the present tense. They are perfect for upper KS3 German students, who are working regularly with compound sentences and more complex texts, KS4 German students preparing for German GCSE, and KS5 German students, who are refreshing prior knowledge. German separable verbs can be quite a challenging concept for English-speaking German learners, and I’ve found that focused practice really helps them consolidate their understanding of how to conjugate them accurately, particularly the location of the separable prefix at the end of the clause. This kind of activity really does help to create a lively language learning environment. Students can develop, embed, reinforce and refresh their conjugation skills in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, independently of the teacher. The questions have a bonus multi-skill focus on listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading and spelling. They’re great for helping students familiarise themselves with, and develop competence in, speaking, reading, writing and spelling in German in general, and certainly in conjugating German separable verbs in the present tense in particular. The cards are useful not only when you’re focusing on conjugation, but also as an all-year-round starter, plenary and general ‘pick-me-up’ activity, as the goal is not simply to learn how conjugation works, and how patterns can be identified and applied, it’s also about enjoying working with German, and to feel confident about doing so. I like to have different set of task cards ready in folders for free-choice time, where students can choose a particular target focus that they feel they need to work a little more on, and certainly verb conjugation is a really popular choice. This French-speaking countries word searches freebie comprises two differentiated word searches with answer keys, featuring a range of countries where French is an official language. I have a set of 10 differentiated word searches with country, capital city and flag reference list in my store too - the full set description is as follows: Mots cachés are a fabulous way of encouraging students to engage with the written word in French, refreshing and reinforcing language as they complete the grids. This set features ten differentiated word searches with answer keys, with each consecutive grid increasing in challenge. It focuses on 40 countries / territories where French is an official language. The word searches help students***develop their knowledge and awareness of the Francophone world***, and just how widely it is spoken around the globe. I’ve used the definite article for the countries, so that students can see which countries are masculine, and which feminine, which in turn helps consolidate knowledge of gender in French. In Grids 1-4, students search for a particular country. In Grids 5 & 6, they search for a range of capital cities. Grid 7 gives 16 capital cities as prompts, and students search for the corresponding countries in the grid. Similarly, in Grid 8, there are 16 countries given, and students search for the corresponding capital cities in the grid. Grids 9 & 10 show a selection of national flags, and students search for the corresponding countries in the grid, and also write the country name in the prompt box next to the individual flag. There is a single grid per page, A4 (8.5 x 11) portrait format. Students can tell in which direction the words are written by looking at the arrow key on each grid. Each grid has a corresponding answer key, so that students can check their answers - or use for a little extra help if they need it. I’ve included a complete reference sheet of all 40 countries, capital cities and flags - you can either laminate this to share around small groups of students, or give one to each student to stick into their learning workbooks as a general longer-term reference resource. Have a look at the set here (£3): https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/french-speaking-countries-word-searches-12628480 MERCI BEAUCOUP ET BON VOYAGE !

ITALIAN CONJUGATION PRACTICE SAMPLER

(2)
GCSE ITALIAN KS4 ITALIAN KS3 ITALIAN VERBS CONJUGATION PRACTICE FREE SAMPLER I’ve created a lot of ‘quick conjugation workbooks’ for my students and they’re really popular and effective. They’re a great way of practising, reinforcing and revising how to conjugate all the various verb groups, tenses and moods in Italian. I use them in a range of learning contexts such as independent work either in class time or at home, holiday refresher work, or individual activities for cover lessons. Students really benefit from several opportunities to work through the workbooks, once or twice a term across a whole school year is a great way of both mapping progress and developing overall understanding and competence. The workbooks focus on specific 25 essential Italian verbs in a range of tenses. They include modals, regular, and irregular verbs. Each workbook is structured as follows: Two alphabetical verb reference lists: Italian : English and English : Italian Three conjugation challenges, each with 50 individual conjugations: Conjugation Challenge 1: each verb conjugated across a range of pronouns, with students writing the corresponding English verb conjugation. Conjugation Challenge 2: gives the infinitive of each verb in Italian, specifying the target pronoun. Students write the corresponding verb conjugation. Conjugation Challenge 3: students write the corresponding Italian verb conjugation, and its infinitive, from an English prompt. Notes and Next Steps sheet, which encourages students to think about how their understanding of Italian conjugation works, what progress they have made, what their targets for improvement might realistically be, and what they might reasonably do in order to meet those targets. answer key The contents are as follows: Italian high-frequency verbs list: Italian-English Italian -ARE verbs list: English-Italian Italian -ERE verbs present tense conjugation: Challenge 1 with answer key Italian -IRE verbs perfect tense conjugation: Challenge 2 with answer key Italian -ARE verbs: imperfect tense conjugation: Challenge 3 with answer key Italian high-frequency verbs future perfect tense conjugation: Challenge 1 with answer key Have a browse in my store for more Italian grammar activities, and a wide range of Italian language teaching and learning materials, with special offer bundles, resource boxes, and lots of freebies too! PRIMARY FRENCH FRUITS YEAR 7 FRENCH FRUITS KS3 FRENCH FRUITS WORD SEARCHES The resource is non-editable in a zipped format. It is copyright, all rights reserved. It may not be copied, rewritten, shared or distributed outside your own classroom in any way. The license is a single-user license only. Please read the Terms of Use. The resource is free to download, but Terms of Use still apply. Mots Cachés are a fabulous way of encouraging learners to engage with the written word in French, refreshing and reinforcing language as they complete the grids. This freebie features two differentiated word searches, focusing on 25 fruits in French, each grid with slightly different challenge. The fruits include masculine, feminine, singular and plural, with a blend of definite and indefinite articles - this really helps learners think a little more creatively about language, and their new vocab - they may learn la pomme for example, and it’s useful to give students opportunity to think about grammatical concepts, and how la becomes une for example. I’ve selected high-frequency fruits, such as apple or***pear***, and also fruits which may be new to some learners, such as redcurrant or starfruit. There are a range of phonemes and sounds too, such as the silent ll (groseille) and the use of the plural before a vowel, to show that the***letter s isn’t always silent***, for example les ananas or les olives. There is 1 French to English grid, labelled with a lemon, where learners are prompted with the French words, and look for them in French in the grid. For additional consolidation, each grid also features an English word list that they have to complete, really putting their knowledge to the test! There is also an English to French grid, labelled with a raspberry, where the prompt words are given in English, and learners have to find the French equivalent in the grid. For additional consolidation and practice in writing and spelling in French, they also complete the French word list on each page. Learners can tell in which direction the words are written by looking at the arrow key on each grid. There is an answer grid for each word search, so that learners can check their answers - or use for a little extra help if they need it. The word searches are in landscape format, as I’ve found this to be the best format for beginning learners of French. Use as starters, refreshers, plenaries or fun-time fillers at any time during the school year, as well as when you’re introducing fruits in French. ***Have a browse in my store for more French word searches, and a wide range of other French teaching and learning materials, with French resource boxes, special offer bundles, and lots of freebies. It’s useful for advanced beginner French students to provide a language learning map and for intermediate French students who are working with more complex language and texts, including authentic resources, and as a vocabulary audit and enrichment. The verbs are all in the infinitive form and feature high-frequency French verbs that I work with in the advanced beginner to intermediate stages of my French learning programs. It’s important in language learning to ensure that students quickly develop a useful French verb vocabulary bank, are able to recognize high-frequency French verbs, and are confident with the meaning of those verbs in their first or home language. At that point students can move swiftly on to looking at conjugation and using the verbs in a communicative and practical context, enabling them to produce more detailed and descriptive language. This is an integral element to successful language learning. Students shouldn’t take on the task of learning long lists of verbs or other vocabulary all at once though: frequent and regular use in real-world practical contexts is far more successful at embedding vocabulary into longer-term memory. I also use the books for quick vocabulary quizzes, again at frequent and regular intervals - I simply shout out the French or English verb, the first student or team to shout out the correct answer wins a point. I’ve found this to be a really successful alternative to more formal vocabulary testing. The list is a great time-saver for teachers too - if you’re preparing resources focusing on high-frequency French verbs for your students, the list is a good starting point. There are two backgrounds to choose from - French flag, which I generally use for French vocabulary display or French grammar display, and plain. I like to have sets of super simple worksheets that I can give to my young beginner learners of English, not only when they’re new to the target vocabulary, but also for refreshing and revising language they’ve learnt some time ago. Students can generally more easily assimilate new language and vocabulary when they are able to link it in their memory with a visual image, and it’s particularly important to match a clock time with the corresponding clock face when learning how to tell the time. I give my students these worksheets at the same time as introducing the time set, so that they can practise and embed both recognising the time, and writing the time phrase itself. Students really enjoy the opportunity to test their recall too. The worksheets are useful in a number of contexts: I use them for sub lessons, as starters, plenaries, five-minute refreshers and home learning activities. I occasionally use them for more formal assessment purposes too.
