FRENCH REFLEXIVE VERBS NEAR FUTURE TENSE

FSL FLE ADVANCED BEGINNER FRENCH INTERMEDIATE FRENCH NEAR FUTURE TENSE 25 FRENCH REFLEXIVE VERBS 150 conjugations across 3 differentiated conjugation challenges with a full answer key & verb lists My students really like this kind of grammar activity, as they like to work and learn independently, which is a successful way of varying teaching and learning methodologies - I’ve found it’s really important to avoid predominantly teacher-led learning in the languages classroom. The workbook is really versatile, and ideal for advanced advanced beginner French and intermediate French students who are working with more complex language and texts with a range of tenses. French reflexive verbs can be quite tricky, particularly for students whose first language does not have a similar reflexive verb group, and they often require additional practice. Firstly, the correct reflexive pronoun, and secondly, its location within a clause or sentence in relation to the pronoun and verbs. Language learners do often try to conflate what they know about grammar in their first language with the grammar of the language they are learning. For example, students with English as a first language frequently use the construct je suis aller me coucher instead of je vais me coucher for I am going to go to bed. Though the workbook focuses solely on the correct conjugation of verbs, and does not look at word order in the context of full sentences, there are conjugation patterns that students can learn, recognize and apply, ensuring that their spoken and written French is accurate, and that their understanding of French across the skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing is robust. The resource is structured as follows: Two alphabetical verb reference lists: French-English and English-French. Three conjugation challenges, each with 50 individual conjugations: Conjugation Challenge 1: each verb conjugated in French across a range of pronouns, with students writing the corresponding English verb conjugation. Conjugation Challenge 2: gives the infinitive of each verb in French, specifying the target pronoun. Students write the corresponding verb conjugation in French. Conjugation Challenge 3: students write the corresponding French verb conjugation, and its infinitive, from an English prompt. Notes and Next Steps template which facilitates reflective learning answer key Have a browse in my store for more French grammar activities, with dollar deals, special offer bundles, and lots of freebies. Please read Terms of Use carefully. There are five search grids with corresponding answer keys. Learners are able to identify which direction words are located in within the grid by referring to the arrow key. For additional consolidation, they also rewrite each word in the word column. There are also five question and answer key grid templates for learners to create their own searches for each other — this is a really popular activity, and I’ve found that my learners often like to create grids for family at home too. The templates enable learners to apply their language practically and creatively, which is really important at this stage of language development. We also discuss Christmas traditions and practices in our home and other countries, and this gives an additional opportunity to add words and phrases they can use in their own word searches. There is an answer key for each word search, so that learners can check their answers - or use for a little extra help if they need it, For me, answer keys are essential, as they not only provide learners with an additional opportunity to engage with language, but they also help them develop more independence in their learning. They’re also a great teacher time-saver - a real bonus! The word searches are in landscape format, with a single grid per 8.5 x 11 (A4) sheet, which allows for a decent font size in the grid - I like to ensure that text is accessible to all learners - and at this stage of their learning, it’s absolutely essential that language looks accessible and manageable. Have a look at this English Numbers 0-10 word search freebie - it’s the same format as these word searches, and you can see if they will suit your learners: NUMBERS 0-10 IN ENGLISH : WORD SEARCH FREEBIE https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/esl-english-numbers-0-10-word-search-freebie-12296067 Have a browse in my store for more English resources, including English dollar deals, special offer bundles, and freebies. FRENCH REFLEXIVE VERBS PRESENT TENSE

FSL FLE BEGINNER FRENCH INTERMEDIATE FRENCH REFLEXIVE VERBS PRESENT TENSE CONJUGATION 25 high-frequency reflexive verbs, 150 conjugation questions, 3 differentiated challenges, answer keys. This ten-page workbook is really popular with my students - they like to work independently, practicing and revising how to conjugate French reflexive verbs - they can be quite tricky, particularly for students whose first language does not have a similar reflexive verb group. The workbook focuses on formation and conjugation, rather than usage, though it’s definitely useful to remind students of a number of things when focusing on or revising tense and verb formation and conjugation. Students do often try to conflate what they know about conjugation, with those with English as a first language for example frequently say je suis me brosser for I am brushing or similarly je fais me brosser for I do brush. There is the additional issue of the relevant reflexive pronoun, and its location in relation to the subject pronoun and verb. I’ve found that this kind of conjugation drills workbook really helps students to recognize and predict conjugation patterns. ADVANCED ITALIAN INTERMEDIATE ITALIAN CONJUGATION PRACTICE PLUPERFECT TENSE The workbook focuses on 25 high-frequency regular and irregular verbs Italian verbs in the pluperfect tense (trapassato prossimo). There are three differentiated ‘quick conjugation’ challenges, each with 50 conjugation questions, so 150 conjugations in total. My students really enjoy learning and practicing their conjugation skills with these kinds of workbooks, and I’ve created a series of them that they can access whenever they feel they need to do a little extra work on their conjugation. There’s also a 6-page answer key workbook - for me, answer keys are an integral element of the learning process with this kind of activity - they certainly help students develop more independence in their learning (and they do enjoy correcting their own and particularly each others’ work!), and they give students further opportunity to engage with the learning focus. Though the workbook focuses solely on the correct conjugation of verbs, and does not look at word order in the context of full sentences, there are conjugation patterns that students can learn, recognise and apply, ensuring that their spoken and written Italian is accurate, and that their understanding of Italian across the skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing is robust. The workbook focuses on formation and conjugation, rather than usage, though it’s definitely useful to remind students of a number of things when focusing on or revising tense and verb formation and conjugation. For example, students do often try to conflate what they know about conjugation in their first language, and the language they are learning, and those with English as a first language frequently look for a word that is the equivalent of would, until they familiarise themselves with the fact that the notion of conditional is indicated in the verb ending. I see this a lot with the future tense too, and tend to introduce both tenses quite closely together. It’s also easy to confuse the future tense endings with the conditional tense endings, and targeted practice helps to address that really well. The resource is structured as follows: Two alphabetical verb reference lists: Italian-English and English-Italian. Three conjugation challenges, each with 50 individual conjugations: Conjugation Challenge 1: each verb conjugated in Italian across a range of pronouns, with students writing the corresponding English verb conjugation. ALEVEL FRENCH CONDITIONAL PERFECT TENSE CONJUGATION PRACTICE 25 high-frequency French verbs, 150 conjugation questions, 3 differentiated challenges, answer keys & verbs lists ideal for***A Level French*** students who are working with more complex language and texts, including a wide range of authentic resources, and developing their knowledge and understanding of tense and mood in French. My students really like this kind of grammar activity, as they like to work and learn independently, which is a successful way of varying teaching and learning methodologies - I’ve found it’s really important to avoid predominantly teacher-led learning in the languages classroom The workbook focuses on formation and conjugation, rather than usage, though it’s definitely useful to remind students of a number of things when focusing on or revising tense and verb formation and conjugation. Language learners do often try to conflate what they know about grammar in their first language, with the grammar of the language they are learning. Students whose first language is English often look for a direct equivalent of would, similar to when they first meet the conditional tense for example, or they may use***avoir*** instead of être for verbs which require être as the auxiliary. Students do need to to have a good grasp of the auxiliary verbs être and avoir in the conditional tense , as well as the patterns for forming the relevant past participles, in order to ensure that they can form the conditional perfect tense accurately. The resource has the following structure: Two alphabetical verb reference lists: French-English and English-French. Notes and Next Steps template which students visit regularly - it really does encourage them to think about where they are now, how confident they feel, and what they might need to work on a little more to be absolutely sure of their conjugation skills. answer key The product is non-editable in a zipped format.
