This resource is designed to practise using modal verbs. The first sheet is a list of pronouns and the part of the modal verb with options to choose infinitives and finally the end of the sentence. The second sheet gives instructions and suggestions for uses. I have found this useful with year 8 students who have already had a lesson on the structure and used this as a revision/consolidation. I hope you find it useful.

This worksheet was created from a current news article published in Le Monde. Making students of French aware of current affairs that they may have heard about in the English news from another view. Taking the article and creating questions that help with student comprehension. Aimed at a good level GCSE class or beginner A level students it includes activities to support understanding of the use of verbs, working out meaning from content, a short translation activity, answering questions on content in English, using English and context to help work out new words/phrases. Students can fold over the completed verb to allow them to work from memory or look at the table if they need to. What should my year 7 Spanish students know by the end of year 7? I asked this question and made a list of all the topics covered over the year. There is also a writing task/project and a support sheet to help students to review and revise thier first year of learning Spanish. This is a helpful end of year consolidation task which allows you to assess where your students are and diagnose where they need support to be prepared for year 8.

It has a variety of questions that will encourage students to read and write in French to answer them as well as ask questions to French people. All these activities can be completed on the day and filled into the workbook directly for reviewing/follow-up in a lesson. Pocket money is a reading activity with several exercises to check comprehension. Questions are designed to encourage the student to read the text and look for detail they include translation, tense recognition and gap-fill. I have used this with year 9 and above as revision of the topic and as a cover lesson as students can get on with the tasks with little or no support. The answers are included for self/peer or teacher marking.
