Tennessee Williams’ classic play explores the toxic side of masculinity, its disregard and abusive nature. In the post-modern world of the ‘Me Too’ movement and the downfall of Jeffrey Epstein, it remains an essential text to study. I have taught this text many times over the last 20 years and I have used this specific resource (revised): to lead my teaching in class, as a distance learning material (Google Meet/Skype Lessons), as a homework assignment and also as a tool of revision – All have worked well for the students. This dynamically presented 18 slide PowerPoint lesson contains, a starter activity, summary and analysis questions, an academic writing task, a theme-tracking exercise, an extension task, a homework assignment and of course, a plenary. This is a complete resource with no further work required from the teacher. Enjoy!

‘Never Let Me Go’ by Kazuo Ishiguro explores an enduring love that battles a hopeless situation. Using the canvas of cloning, Ishiguro explores the moral, spiritual and legal debates connected to the creation of life. In our fractured post-modern world, this text remains both significant and essential. I have taught this text a number of times in recent years, and have used this specific resource to lead my teaching in class, as a distance learning resource (SKYPE Lessons), as a homework assignment and even as a tool of revision – all have worked well for the students. This dynamically illustrated PowerPoint lesson (16 slides) includes: a starter activity, summary and analysis questions, an academic writing task, a theme tracking task, an extension task connected to advanced vocabulary, a homework assignment and a plenary (approximately 2 hours teaching time). This is a complete resource with no further work required from the teacher. Enjoy!

This beautifully illustrated powerpoint is extremely engaging for the students. This presentation establishes what 'inference' is and how we apply it in our lives. The lesson focuses firstly on the 'inferences' we can make from media images, this works as a gateway to the second part of the lesson where we transfer those skills to explore written texts. I have used this lesson successfully a number of times and it really helps the students to detail their responses more dynamically. Enjoy!
