READING AND LISTENING COMPREHENSION Based on an article and a small radio extract from France Inter. Suited for Year 12/Year 13 studying immigration and discriminations.

Project: pupils create their ideal job and have to write a job description and the portrait of the ideal candidate. Idea of follow-up: other students choose one of the jobs created by their classmates and write an application letter for it.

Created for a class of 16 pupils: give each student one card with either some text or an image. They have to stand up and find their pair by forming sentences with what they have on their card (either forming sentences from scratch for those with the images, or forming sentences with the words for those with the text). Good activity as a starter.

One slide to use as a prompt to create a speaking activity. Idea: in pairs, students ask each other the questions which are on the slide and use the images to make up answers. The image at the top is for what is good, the image in the middle what is bad and the image at the bottom (or on the side) is what is possible to do in the city.

One slide with different sentences about sport in different tenses. Highlights the use of the verb FAIRE with the different prepositions (du, de la...)

Students stand up and walk around the classroom to ask these questions to their classmates. Good activity to start a lesson. They must then talk about their classmates' answers as part of a feedback discussion.

Different pictures relating to MARIAGE POUR TOUS or MANIF POUR TOUS. Idea of activity: stick the photos around the classroom; students walk around with a pen of a different colour and write their thoughts/opinions about each photo and react to what the others are writing too.
