I've been teaching English language and literature for 8 years and I know how difficult all the changes to exams have been. That's why I've prepared a wide range of resources to help you get the best from your pupils.

This Macbeth comprehension scheme of work covers every single scene in the play!
Each lesson contains a starter that assesses the students’ prior learning, a summary of each scene and a series of comprehension questions to test the students’ learning.
The lessons also explore the wider themes of the play and have links to video summaries of each scene.
This is an ideal sceme of work to introduce Shakespeare’s Macbeth and will make sure that the students know the play inside out.
Note: The starter tasks include ‘long term memory questions’ relating to Jekyll and Hyde as this is the text we study before Macbeth. These will need to be adapted or deleted as you see fit. I left them in case any other teachers wanted to use them.
This is a 3-4 hour long revision workshop that can be used with Year 11 students preparing for their GCSE English Language exams.
The session can be completed as a one day revision workshop or can be broken down into smaller sections.
The workshop covers all areas of both papers 1 and 2. The session itself covers short answer questions (papers 1 and 2), analysis (paper 1), evaluation (paper 1), comparison (paper 2) and transactional writing (paper 2).
In addition, the booklet includes independent revision tasks focusing on imaginative writing (paper 1) and analysis and evaluation (paper 2).
I have included the PowerPoint, which can be adapted to your needs as well as a booklet containing: questions, extracts, model answers, revision tasks, mark schemes and personal learning checklists for both papers.
I have added the booklet in both PDF and word formats.
