Titanic Literacy Unit Lesson 4 This is one of the lessons from a unit of work on The Titanic. The unit explores the Titanic and uses this as the context. This is a scheme of work that I have revisited and updated for 2012, to include all APP frameworks, persuasive techniques and analysis of the Death Penalty. The scheme looks at murderers and results in a question about whether or not we should bring back the death penalty. Pupils end by writing a discursive essay, as if they are under controlled assessment conditions, as I am trying to prepare year 9 for their GCSE years. This is one of a full unit of lessons that I have uploaded with their resources. You can teach the lessons by themselves and without the others, or feel free to use them all. If you type 'spoken language study Miss R' into a resources search at the top of the screen, they will all come up More…in a list. This one is a lesson that shows the pupils how to annotate their script and then how to use that to write about language. I usually embed my resources at the end of the PP, so you are likely to find them after the last slide.
