Every week, we have 1 reading lesson with year 7 in English. I now like to underpn them with an objective so that their reading for pleasure has a technical focus too. This is one of my reading lessons and the focus of this is to introduce all of the other lessons as it looks at reading like it is a journey.

A lesson for low ability KS3 pupils about Sci Fi and Fantasy settings.

This is a scheme of work that I have revisited and updated for 2012, to include all APP frameworks, persuasive techniques and analysis of the Death Penalty. The scheme looks at murderers and results in a question about whether or not we should bring back the death penalty. Pupils end by writing a discursive essay, as if they are under controlled assessment conditions, as I am trying to prepare year 9 for their GCSE years. These are the first lessons of a scheme of work that covers all areas of the AQA GCSE exam for English. Taught to pupils with low Ds who were trying to get to C, this breaks down all of the questions and teaches pupils how they should tackle them. There are more lessons saved with the same stem but lessons 1-15
