These resources span my career; from my period of teaching unqualified, through to an AST of English & Director of Teaching & Learning. Although my specialism is English, I have taught GCSE Citzienship, Language and Lit, Media Studies, Maths & History. I have also taught all of those at Key Stage 3, so there is an eclectic mix here. As the main trainer in my previous school, I have uploaded many insets and training session powerpoints too.

Poetry Scheme - 3 Poems - 2 Stealing & Hitcher

This is one lesson that I have taken from a whole scheme of lessons. Each poem can be used as an individual lesson, or, if you would like to teach all of the lessons, search for ' Poetry Scheme - 3 Poems - Lesson Miss R' and they should all come up for you to work with. At the end of the unit, there is a reading and writing assessment that involves analysis and creativity too. This lesson covers lionks between the central characters in the poems Hitcher and Stealing.

This is the full scheme of work that has been written. This upload is the lesson plans with all resources. I have also created one by one lesson Powerpoints for the scheme, that have all been uploaded separately as 'Death penalty Writing Scheme lesson 1' etc, Written in my NQT year, it will need some updating to include APP criteria and AFL, but it appeals to all learners and has been very very popular over the years; a great starting point and it includes many citizenship strands. Enjoy!

This is part of a full scheme of work - all powerpoints and resources have been uploaded. Powerpoints are all separate uploads, saved by lesson numbers 1,2,3 etc. There are 9 lessons in total. Also uploaded as part of this section are resources. All lessons are saved under 'Nobody Has a Private Life'. This scheme is quite old, and will need some adapting as it was written in my PGCE year. However, it's a good starting point and pupils have very much enjoyed it over the years. Also has strong citizenship links!

Crime and Punishment in Holes lesson PP

(1)
This is one of several powerpoint lessons that I have uploaded on the novel Holes by Louis Sacher, ready to teach with it's resources (if aplicable). Although, you will wish to adapt and differentiate for your own class. They can be taught together to reach an assessment outcome but all are suitable as standalone exploratory lessons. This lesson covers the theme of crime and punishment in the novel.

Ballads Full Scheme of Work Lesson 6

This is part of a full scheme of work - all uploaded as separate powerpoints, as they are separate resources under the title 'Ballads Full Scheme of Work; Lesson Number' There are up 14 lessons, but the last three are covered by a writing frame as lessons 11 - 14. It's aimed at Key Stage 3 and was written in my PGCE year, so may need some updating and tying into APP criteria to upgrade it, but it's certainly a good starting place.
