The premise of our year 9 curriculum is that we start to get pupils used to the GCSE controlled assessment model by teaching them the skills that they need to pass Lang and Lit. This scheme covers Media and Non Fiction and More… More… this lesson can be taught alone or with the others. This lesson gets the pupils to demonstarte all they have learnt in an ICT suite.

Reading Challenge Lesson 11 These are a series of lessons and1 pps that were designed to support the delivery of the Dfes unit of work on Reading Skills. There are 12 lessons altogether and i have uploaded them all as separate entities as each can be used as a standalone lesson or you can use all 12. The lessons explore different reading skills and they are aimed at year 7 readers - level 4.

Titanic SOW for Level 2/3 pupils(in KS3) lesson This is one full lesson plan with the pp and resources (if I made them) that is part of a full scheme of work that I have uploaded. There are 18 lessons altoghter and they have all been uploaded separately. In some cases, there is only a lesson plan as I've planned it but not made all the PPs. I will add PPs as I create them. Aimed at year 7 who are below level 4 and utilises lots of Kagan practice.

This is one of a series of lessons that I am uploading on the old AQA anthology poems. The lessons obviously have a comparative strand running through them and there are lessons for all of the poems from Cluster 1 and 2 uploaded as well as lessons that compare two poems or teach how to analyse them / compare them. Horror Writing Scheme Full lessons & Resources. This scheme of work consists of 8 taught lessons that I have uploaded under the same title as lessons 1-8. All of the resources required for each lesson are uploaded alongside the lesson for ease of finding. These lessons are aimed at C grade writers and are ideal fo year 9 writers too (level 5 and above). Based on Urban Myth inspiration, the scheme goes through the planning stages into completion and writing.

Rime Of the Ancient Mariner full PP lesson This is one of nine lessons that form the analysis of the Rime Of The Ancient Mariner. The lessons are aimed at Key Stage 3 and have a variety of tasks in them to help support pupils in accessing the poem. They culminate in a reading assessment that is uploaded as lesson 9 and can be App'd.

This is one of several powerpoint lessons that I have uploaded on Media and Non Fiction Texts, ready to teach with it's resources. The lessons are contextualised in the remit of 'making a band'. You will wish to adapt and differentiate for your own class. They can be taught together to reach an assessment outcome but all are suitable as standalone exploratory lessons. These are a few poetry resources that I have managed to salvage from an original scheme that was deleted by my PC. Included are copies of poems for annotation, cloze exercises and a WWTBAM on the actual poems in the brochures.

This is a full set of lessons based on the Junior Apprentice - I've uploaded the first editions last year but these are the new improved ones with the AQA speaking and listening criteria in. Team based work and leads to a group presentation. Pupils loved it.

I have already uploaded the Woman In Black scheme for writing that I created last year. These were the lessons that i added to it to vary it for year 9, where they are being taught the skills of redrafting and rewriting in preparation for completing planning - so they are taught using the AQA sheets and taught the skills that they will need ti use independently when they start GCSE.

This is one lesson that I have taken from a whole scheme of lessons. Each poem can be used as an individual lesson, or, if you would like to teach all of the lessons, search for ' Poetry Scheme - 3 Poems - Lesson Miss R' and they should all come up for you to work with. At the end of the unit, there is a reading and writing assessment that involves analysis and creativity too. This lesson structures the pupils in developing a narrative at the end point of one of the poems that they've studied. i.e Hitcher / Educations For Leisure or Stealing.

I am working with an exceptional trainee at the moment & we are promoting the work of author Roger Hurn. He uploads his work to the TES é we have downloaded it for our level 2 é 3 Year 7s. This lesson is lesson 1 after that introduces him and one of his short stories. We will upload the others as they are finished. The end result is that the pupils will write to Roger, who has promised to write back - so a massive thank you to him! I use these targets when I am preparing pupils for any reading exam to help them to focus on their needs. Every pupil has one in their book so that I can just give them the number when marking.
