This Powerpoint is planned for the SMSC form group activity but can also be used in an assembly. It will be sent to all forms in the school and sixth form so it is suitable for years 7-13. Students are invited to discuss their job prospects and how technology could impact this in the coming years. What can they do to prepare for this? There is a 10 minute video exploring how technology has impacted jobs and how it will continue to do so. The last reflection task links back to British Values.

A Level Edexcel - Problem of Evil & Suffering

This is an introduction lesson designed for the new Edexcel RS spec - Philosophy Unit. As there is no textbook I have used whatever I could find from other texts to make it as comprehensive as possible. I aimed to cover 4 points (scholars, quotes) per element of the spec so my students had enough for the higher mark questions. It covers: The nature of the problem across a range of religious traditions Types of evil and suffering – moral and non-moral

There are 2 as I have 2 hours per week however they can be condensed into 1 (which is what I have had to do to fast track my year 10s). The knowledge is based upon the book endorsed by the board written by Reid and Tyler (2016) but it is not needed for these lessons. Lessons include starter activity, learning objectives, progress checks, exam questions, reference to scripture and denominations if applicable. If you have any questions please do ask and I will try to get back to you as soon as possible. Many thanks, Mel

Five Roots of Shia Islam - EDEXCEL - Muslim Beliefs

GCSE RELIGIOUS STUDIES EDEXCEL / Specification B / Topic: Muslim Beliefs Lesson 2: The Five Roots of Shia Islam - 'Usul ad-Din This lesson has been re-designed for Spring Term 2020. It is for 1 hour with my year 10s but can easily be adapted to a double lesson. Due to only having 1 hour, I have created an information worksheet to go along with the Powerpoint slides so the students can focus on thinking skills rather than knowledge. I wanted my students to have a comprehensive information resource to use for their revision so we can focus on skills of analysis and evaluation within the lesson. I have based this lesson on the Edexcel endorsed textbook written by Waqar Ahmad Ahmedi. Students will not need this textbook to complete the lesson but I wanted to make you as the purchaser of this resource aware. My lessons have been rated ‘Outstanding’ within internal school reviews and by Oftsed, my resources have been downloaded over 18,000 times and I often receive personal emails from fellow RS teachers thanking me for sharing my work. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to email me on my personal email @ lady_mel@hotmail.co.uk
