Used as the first two lessons with Y13. Contains an intro to the course with quick quiz. Leads the students to consider existing knowledge of language and CLA. Moves onto a transcript and a straightforward analytical task introducing students on how their answers should be structured, followed by a peer assessment activity. Contains information on CDS satisfying A01 and A02. Includes further reading.

The activities on the PP were created by me for use with a LA 10 class who have just started looking at Paper 2. Initially students attempted the exam paper and then we had a walk through focusing on inferring information (2) using terminology (3) and the success criteria for Q4. I have made structure strips to assist in answering the Section B question. The original paper is not my own.

Introductory lessons looking at how to put together an A Level answer. Uses 2008 example texts found in the Edexcel data pack on the Edexcel website https://qualifications.pearson.com/en/qualifications/edexcel-a-levels/english-language-2015.coursematerials.html#filterQuery=category:Pearson-UK:Category%2FSpecification-and-sample-assessments. Looks at how identity is shown in a teenage magazine article vs political speech. Includes template for researching theory. Could easily be adapted for AQA meanings and representations. Includes potential sentence openers/ structures.
