PP looking at each poem separately and a large grid/ essay plan comparing the two. There are two differentiated versions. This was done with Y7 though it was challenging for them. I have looked at the same poems with anything up to Y11.

Used as the first two lessons with Y13. Contains an intro to the course with quick quiz. Leads the students to consider existing knowledge of language and CLA. Moves onto a transcript and a straightforward analytical task introducing students on how their answers should be structured, followed by a peer assessment activity. Contains information on CDS satisfying A01 and A02. Includes further reading.

Planning a new AQA GCSE answer on a Christmas Carol.

An introduction to lexical and semantic development. Looks at holophrases, Nelson, Rescorla, Aitchison. Various activities along the way to check understanding including looking at a small transcript.

Information on The Globe, Prologue, Iambic Pentameter and an intro to Act 1. Used with Y10. A attached a shorter intro for low ability

A range of lessons looking at the novel Freak the Mighty. Many of these PP slides were printed as worksheets.

Taboo game split into two sections of 13 challenges for each team.

PP will last up to 2 weeks depending on class ability and how long you want to spend on developing writing and peer assessing. The skills numbers match up to Doddle skills however these could easily be changed as the skills are very universal. Focus on improving vocabulary and peer/ self assessment. Images are emotive focusing on 9/11, war and Chernobyl.

Lesson used as part of a unit of preparing for Crafting Langauge coursework Edexcel- could easily be adapted for other exam boards/ ages. Uses Everybody’s Free and J K Rowling’s Harvard speech.

A range of activities on the poem Half Past Two. Could be used at GCSE however I used with KS3 after reading Our Day Out.

A resource to support very low ability students in putting together a feature article on homework. The group struggles to write independently due to SEN needs and EAL. This resource produced some excellent pieces of writing.

Activities focusing on Juliet's Soliloquy including a script and match activity.

Includes some AS revision on language and gender and an activity comparing Bridget Jones with Pride and Prejudice. Good for the study of sociolinguistics.

Students can use these worksheets to revise key language change events and theories and complete notes on various aspects of the module.
