Updated This resources has new content added. It now includes one set in the traditional fan and pick style (i.e. answer on the question cards) and a second version of the question cards with the answer removed. Therefore giving more flexibility for how you might use them with your students. Previous buyers, please re-download to access new content.
Fan and Pick activity promotes cooperative learning (Kagan strategy), by creating situations for discussions around finding the correct answer and not just what the answer is. They can be used as a plenary activity to determine what learning has taken place, used to determine pupils prior knowledge to a topic and of course great for revision.
Each Fan and Pick set has a set of 12 question cards, each card has three questions differentiated by hotness. The sequences questions here cover finding the next term, the nth term, generating a sequence and deciding if a term is in the sequence; including linear, quadratic and Fibonacci sequences. Alternatively use the second set (with answers removed) as differentiated question task cards.
Full instructions and solutions are provided along with suggestions for stretch and challenge.

Christmas Maths Sequences Collect a Joke
This is a collect a joke activity which requires pupils to collect the words to collect the Chist-maths Joke “Why isn’t every man in a red suit with a beard Father Christmas? ?” and punchline “Because correlation doesn’t imply Claus-ality”
Pupils start where indicated, make a note of the word in the middle of the row (cross it out to keep track) and then work out the answer to the question below. They then find this answer on the top row and again make a note of the word underneath, thus forming the joke and punchline.

This resource is to provide notes or revision for straight line graphs and is suitable for the GCSE 9-1. There are seven revision foldables in this pack covering the following;
Straight Line Graph 1; given a sketch pupils state the equation of each straight line graph.
Straight Line Graph 2; given a graph pupils find the equation of each straight line graph
Straight Line Graph 3; given the equation of the line pupils draw the graph
Straight Line Graph 4; given the equation of the line pupils find the gradient and y-intercept rearranging where necessary.
Straight Line Graph 5; given the gradient and a coordinate point, pupils find the equation of the line.
Straight Line Graph 6; given two coordinates pupils find the equation of the line that passes through the two points.
Straight Line Graph Mixed; pupils complete one of each of the above
Foldables can be used as a revision or summary exercise at the end of a topic. As the answers are hidden pupils can use these to ‘test’ themselves or ask someone else such as a parent to test them.

Expand and Simplify (Spot the Mistake Worksheet)
Spot the mistake activity can be used to assess pupils understanding of each topic.
This spot the mistake involves expanding and simplifying brackets. The worksheet given has an already matched up tarsia puzzle and pupils are told there are mistakes to be found.
Pupils should then work through the matched up edges to check, by doing the expansion themselves, if it is correct. If correct shade in one colour (I use green), if it is wrong pupils shade it in red and then list the correct answer in the space provided.

Circle theorems are the angle properties associated with circles, chords, tangents, radius and diameters and is part of the GCSE 9-1 curriculum. This resource includes three circle theorem revision foldables. Foldables are ideal for revision or review of a topic and a unique way of creating notes which can be used again and again to test knowledge.
The three foldables are;
Circle Theorems 1 (pp. 4-5): This foldable requires students to recognise and state in full each of the circle theorems.
Circle Theorems 2 (pp.6-7): This foldable requires the pupils to draw an example of each circle theorem. Pupils should also state the theorem in full.
Circle Theorems 3 (pp.8-9): This foldable requires pupils to find the missing angles and state the circle theorem used.
Two versions of different paper sizes are included one is A4 size and the other letter size. Remember to choose to ‘fit’ when printing.

Exact trig values is new to the GCSE 9-1 specification. This resource is to support pupils in providing summary notes or a revision resource. This resource has been updated and there are now four folables in this download; covering different aspects to do e=with exact trigonometric values and trig graphs. The four foldables cover;
Exact Trig Values; Pupils use the two triangles (one right angled and one equilateral) to determine the exact trig values using SOH CAH TOA. They will also need to use Pythagoras’ theorem to find the length of the hypotenuse.
Trig Graphs: Pupils are required to recall and sketch the graphs of sin, cos and tan from -360° to 360° on the given axis.
Exact Trig Values >90°; pupils use the exact trip values from the two triangles and use to calculate carefully chosen trig values e.g. sin 210°.
Using Exact Trig Values; pupils use the trig values to complete sums of different trig values (therefore pupils need to be able to add/subtract fractions).
Foldables can be used as a revision or summary exercise at the end of a topic. As the answers are hidden pupils can use these to ‘test’ themselves or ask someone else such as a parent to test them.
I have included an A4 version for UK printers and a let
