Taboo is a word guessing party game. Game is very popular with my students and I’ve played it several times, it’s a great way of REVISING VOCABULARY Taboo game motivate your students to speak. This game can be played in pairs or in teams. The first student to play gets a card with a picture (and the guess-word) and a list of forbidden words. The aim of the game is to get the other team or player to say the guess-word on the card without using any of the forbidden words. They can’t use sound effects, gestures or any derivatives from any of the words on the card either. If you want to make the game more fun, you can set a time limit and get the students to guess as many words as possible in the given time.
