The Highwayman - Unit of Work - Teaching Resources
The Highwayman is a unit of work containing a 128-slide PowerPoint, 26 PDF worksheets and 15 lessons. This engaging scheme of work explores the poem verse by verse, analysing its narrative, characters, themes and language through a range of stimulating activities. These teaching resources can be used with either Year 6 (KS2) or Year 7/8 (KS3) depending on the ability of the students.
Our unit for The Highwayman includes planning (planning provided with a 15-lesson unit of work overview), a fully editable PowerPoint teaching resource and 26 accompanying PDF worksheets. The resource can be used to teach a whole class text or as part of a guided reading programme.

Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier AS/A Level Teaching Resource (109 slide editable PowerPoint)
This teaching resource is an engaging unit for teaching the novel Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier. The tailor-made PowerPoint guides students through the entire novel with a focus on character. It is both useful as a guide to the novel paper and to the AQA AS Literature Paper Two Novel question. Chapter by chapter, the resource rxplores the main three characters: The Narrator (the second Mrs de Winter); the enigmatic Maxim de Winter and Mrs Danvers.

The Lady of Shalott - Unit of Work
This unit of work for Tennyson’s The Lady of Shalott is made up of a 144-slide PowerPoint presentation and 22 worksheets. It is based on the 1842 version of the poem, covers many of the key areas required by the National Curriculum, and includes a variety of activities for students of all abilities.
The unit is designed for use with lower KS3, but is easily adapted for use with Year 5/6.
