Included are two versions of an options booklet that we use to attract students to choose History at GCSE. The detailed version is given out to parents or to students who want to know more about each individual topic that they study; the overview is the initial booklet given to students. Included in the booklet are inspiring quotes about History, an overview of the course, space for student quotes and a table showing the % breakdown of the GCSE (assessments etc.)
This booklet was used for the new AQA specification; however, it can easily be adapted to suit any combination of topics from AQA or any other exam board.
A selection of resources related to the AQA History specification; specifically the Britain: Health and the People unit of work. The worksheets include tasks on key renaissance individuals (Pare, Vesalius, Harvey etc.) as well as Jenner and general renaissance discoveries. Students will need their blue Hodder text books to complete these tasks and may also require internet access for research.
A number of resources relating to the new AQA GCSE unit, Britain: Health and the People, c.1000-Present. Although these worksheets have been specifically designed for AQA, they could be adapted to suit any ‘medicine through time’ unit from another exam board. However, many of the worksheets require the blue Health and the People textbook from Hodder.
Included are various worksheets, PowerPoint presentations, assessment activities and a bumper exam pack (filled with possible questions). These worksheets/activities are designed to supplement other work on medicine and public health.
A handout created in support of the Edexcel AS Level unit: The Unification of Italy, 1830-1870.
Included is a revision diagram showing the 8 stages of Italian unification, from 1792 to 1870. Students can use their class notes or a text book to complete a summary of each event that led to a 'changing Italy'. A set of teacher notes that I created over the summer in preparation for first teaching of the Edexcel unit: Unification of Italy, 1830-1870.
The notes follow the order of the Hodder text book by Podesta; however, both the Pearson and Access to History books have been used to supplement this information. The date range begins in c.1815 to give some context in the run up to the 1830 Edexcel start date.
This resource is intended to be used as a start point for teachers who are new to this topic; they will find even more information in the text books listed above. The resource has been created using Word 2013 in its Notebook layout, so the formatting may be slightly different if opened in a print layout format.
Part 1 of a four-part resource on the Unification of Italy (Parts 2-4 coming 2017/18). These resources are designed to suit the introductory topics of the 'Unification of Italy' unit from Edexcel.
Included are detailed PowerPoint presentations, revision diagrams for note-taking, a thorough 40+ page set of teacher notes and other worksheets. These resources would be invaluable for any teacher who is teaching this unit at A Level (or AS level) and would be an ideal supplement to other material on the topic.

Various resources relating to the AS/A Level topic: Unification of Italy, c.1830-1870 from Edexcel.
Included is a detailed PowerPoint that introduces the topic of nationalism and major thinkers of the period in Italy. There are also handouts that supplement this work, where students can use their course textbook to make notes/answer questions on the viewpoints of the different political/social groups in Italy.
These resources would be perfect as part of a much larger unit of work on Italian unification (this section covers 1830-1847).

A number of resources relating to AQA's Britain: Health and the People unit. These relate to Q4 of the exam paper, which asks students to draw out themes from the course. Included is a revision table where students can make notes on each of the 4 chronological sections of the course; blow this up to A3 to allow enough room for notes. I have also included a guide to Q4 along with an exemplar answer written by a student of mine.
A 60+ page booklet with detailed teacher notes relating to the Edexcel A Level unit: Germany, 1871-1990. Please note that (as many schools will be doing), the first Depth topic (Germany 1871-1914) will be covered by another teacher for coursework, therefore this resource only covers the period from c.1914-1990.
These notes have been taken from a variety of textbooks and history books; they are the perfect aid for teaching this unit or could be used to supplement existing knowledge. The knowledge and content here can be easily adapted to suit other exam boards.
