I have a wealth of resources that are aimed primarily at KS4 and KS5; however, there are some useful KS3 tasks that have been uploaded this year. Topics at KS5 include: Russia and its Rulers, 1855-1941; Later Tudors, 1547-1603; Popular Culture and the Witchcraze of the 16th and 17th Centuries; Italian Unification, 1830-1870; and Germany, 1890-1990. As well as History, I also have a few resources relating to Geography and ICT that some users may find helpful.

A set of teacher notes that I created over the summer in preparation for first teaching of the Edexcel unit: Unification of Italy, 1830-1870. The notes follow the order of the Hodder text book by Podesta; however, both the Pearson and Access to History books have been used to supplement this information. The date range begins in c.1815 to give some context in the run up to the 1830 Edexcel start date. This resource is intended to be used as a start point for teachers who are new to this topic; they will find even more information in the text books listed above. The resource has been created using Word 2013 in its Notebook layout, so the formatting may be slightly different if opened in a print layout format.

An activity created in support of the Edexcel AS Level unit: The Unification of Italy, 1830-1870. This activity includes 3 sets of 8 cards, each in relation to one of the 8 stages of Italy's transformation into a unified state (between 1792 and 1870). Each page contains either: 8 maps, 8 events or 8 dates. Students are required to match up the dates, events and maps before putting the matched-up sets in chronological order. This would be a useful started during a revision lesson towards the end of the course, or the maps/dates cards could be used at the very beginning of the course to get students speculating what may happen.

Handouts and a PowerPoint created in support of the Edexcel AS Level unit: The Unification of Italy, 1830-1870. Included are two blank revision diagrams to allow students to write notes in an ordered way on the 1848 revolutions and why they failed. Ideally this would be blown up to A3 and a map of Italy has been included for reference. Also included is a detailed, completed copy of the 'events' handout using a number of text books. Lower ability students could be given this to support note taking or this could be shown on a projector and talked through in class. I have also included a PowerPoint presentation that can be used as a walkthrough during a lesson on this topic. Please note that as this is an independent learning lesson, the PowerPoint presentation is used for guidance, it does not include all of the answers!

Ideally this would be blown up to A3 and a map of Italy has been included for reference. Also included is a detailed, completed copy of the handout using a number of text books. To accompany these materials, I have put together a detailed PowerPoint presentation to introduce the content. It provides an introduction to the subject as well as a summary of the 1830 Revolutions.

Revision/Summary table for the OCR Unit 3 topic: Russia and its Rulers, 1855-1964. The idea of this worksheet is to help students plan and write thematic essays. Students need to complete the table by bullet pointing the main social, economic and political events from each period. They then need to colour code the bullet points based on 6 'mini themes' (that are often the focus of exam questions). Using this colour coded system, students should be able to easily spot the trends going through the course and can pull this out when planning an essay question.

Several resources to create a 'World Governments' display as part of KS3/KS4 History or Politics. Students were introduced to the various forms of government that exist/have existed and then given the task of researching a particular country. They included the flag of the country, basic information and a summary of their type of government. This formed the basis of our Year 9 work on Electoral Reform in Britain. Also included are titles, display questions and other information sheets to add to the display. The only thing required is a map of the world (and, if desired, a summary of the different government types). As our display was quite small I took a map of the world from the internet and enlarged this to A3. I also intend to mark the countries that have been researched on the map, and have the students find which one is which; you could also use string to label each one.

Resources relating to the Great Reform Act of 1832. These can be used as part of a wider unit of work on electoral reform (perhaps leading in to women's suffrage?) Included is a summary of the Great Reform Act; a task where pupils have to differentiate between the voting systems of 1830 and 1835; and a PowerPoint presentation for the lesson. Also referenced are two political cartoons that show a for/against view of reform. These should be printed out and distributed for pupils to analyse during the lesson. This is a great introduction to political cartoons, which are used extensively at GCSE.
