This lesson looks at brownfield site developments and pupils judge if they are a sustainable way of regenerating an area. Pupils look at this lesson through the context of Cardiff Bay. There are multiple slides (that I recommend you print instead of going through them all) on the history of Cardiff Bay and the reasons why it went into decline. This is the fourteenth lesson in the second theme of the new WJEC/ Eduqas 2016 specification for geography. This lesson looks at the different ways that the high street is doing to “fight back” against decline. The lesson, like others still focus on exam practise as this is the easiest way to get pupils to focus on their weaknesses. The lesson like others contains an 8 markers to help pupil to continue to practise these tough questions. This is the fifteenth lesson in the second theme of the new WJEC/ Eduqas 2016 specification for geography This lesson looks at global cities and urbanisation. It focuses on what urbanisation is, the features of a global city and how a global city may lose its status. There are loads of different activities that help pupils engage with the content and also at the same time practise their exam skills. I have also started to include the “#excellentgeographer” into some of the slides- (This idea was taken from the amazing Jen Monk- @Jennnnnn_x). The worksheet contains a lot of graph practise, as well as another 8 marker with a clear and focused 8 marker mark scheme on it. This is the 6th lesson in the 3rd theme of the new WJEC/Eduqas 2016 specification for geography. This lesson looks at earthquake hazards and what vulnerability will depend on. The lesson also contains a case study that pupils will need to research and goes through what tsunami’s are and the PTWS. This lesson is the 5th lesson in the first theme of the WJEC/ WJEC Eduqas 2016 specification for geography- COASTS. This lesson looks at an example of a distinctive landscape in Wales- Borth Spit. The lesson asks pupils to investigate the spit by collecting information from the table at the front. Everything that you need is on the powerpoint. This lesson is the first lesson that I taught for the river's section of Theme 1 of the new WJEC Geography GCSE course. This lesson pack includes the starter worksheet that looks at the key terms that the students need to know for the drainage basin section of the lesson. Worksheets for the hydrological sections. The powerpoint that runs through what they need to know about the drainage basin and hydrological cycle. This lesson can be done in 58 minutes if stick fully to the timings outlined in the lesson plan, but we all know this can be hard to do, so this lesson can be split up into 2- where the first lesson would then look at the drainage basin and the second lesson would look at the hydrological cycle.
