I am an experienced English teacher of both Literature and Language, and also Classical Studies at High School level. You will find text-based resources for novels, poetry, plays and film study in my shop for Years 7 - 13. The resources are generic to the text so are suitable for any curriculum. I am also a passionate believer in effective literacy learning hence the emphasis on phonics resources in my shop.

The term ‘foreshadowing’ is used in the paragraph showcasing how students can show how the technique used affects the structure of the text too. An additional section is analysis is included that shows how students can combine film techniques in a paragraph to achieve a higher grade.

If you are looking for a fun, interactive game to help your students develop their dictionary literacy skills, this is it. Each letter of the alphabet is represented and has 8 pictures connected to it. Students have to place the pictures in dictionary order for each letter. This activity can work in a number of ways to help your students revise prepositions and conjunctions. 44 cards (or trucks) depicting prepositions and conjunctions. Two trains displaying preposition or conjunction signs. Train designs are also blank if you don’t wish to specify. Train ‘smoke’ cards. You can print as many of these as required. Version 1: Train not specified. Students can connect all the trucks and place the correct ‘smoke’ sign above each truck. You’ll need to print as many smoke signs as necessary. Version 2: Students must sort through all the truck cards and build the ‘Preposition Express’ or the ‘Conjunction Express’. This can be a fun, timed group activity with as many sets of the game as required.
