A fun resource for students when developing awareness of basic tense types. 10 templates, 9 of which have a verb written at the bottom of the rainbow. Students can write a past tense sentence relating to the verb in the orange band, a present tense sentence in the green band and a future tense in the purple band. One template is free for students to use a verb of their choice. A popular activity with students and ideal for classroom displays

10 pages of templates. Verbs include: drive, say, fly, wear, ride, swim, eat, but, see and write. This resource is a little more challenging from my rainbow template version due to the past tense word change. The gaps next to the tense words can be used to write the word (according to the tense) or to write a whole sentence. I have used it for both. Tenses can also be colour coordinated.

11 colourful posters to brighten up your classroom. Each poster lists the name of the term, a definition and provides a picture to demonstrate what is meant by the term. Flashcard game relating to sentence types. 11 sentences covering terms such as clause, predicate, simple, compound, complex sentence, phrase etc. 11 definitions. 11 examples. Cards will need to be pre-cut. This activity can be group based or an individual, cut and paste exercise to put in student workbooks.

32 bright, colourful flashcards each depicting a word. Students have to say or write that word depending on the word class listed at the bottom of the card. (Verb, adjective, proper noun, abstract noun, noun. ) This is an excellent revision game for students to distinguish between word classes. Reverse side of the cards is included as an option should you wish to print and laminate them for a group activity : )

Dinosaur themed visual sentence building cards. Students will need to include an auxillary verb, possessive noun and a preposition (or more depending on the length of the sentence.) This is a neat confidence boosting activity for early literacy. (Boys who sometimes struggle with reading fluency and polysyllabic words seem to engage with dinosaurs really well!) 8 who cards 8 what cards 8 where cards. Students are free to mix and match but must use at least one card from each colour group to make the sentence.

40 cards. 2 containing a definition of active and passive voices. 20 examples of active voice. 20 examples of passive voice. Students are given a card / cards and have to convert the sentence into the opposite voice. Can be used as a verbal group activity or as a written independent activity.
