I am an experienced English teacher of both Literature and Language, and also Classical Studies at High School level. You will find text-based resources for novels, poetry, plays and film study in my shop for Years 7 - 13. The resources are generic to the text so are suitable for any curriculum. I am also a passionate believer in effective literacy learning hence the emphasis on phonics resources in my shop.

Students can write a past tense sentence relating to the verb in the orange band, a present tense sentence in the green band and a future tense in the purple band. This resource is a little more challenging from my rainbow template version due to the past tense word change. The gaps next to the tense words can be used to write the word (according to the tense) or to write a whole sentence. I have used it for both. Tenses can also be colour coordinated.

(Verb, adjective, proper noun, abstract noun, noun. ) This is an excellent revision game for students to distinguish between word classes. This is a neat confidence boosting activity for early literacy. (Boys who sometimes struggle with reading fluency and polysyllabic words seem to engage with dinosaurs really well!) 8 who cards 8 what cards 8 where cards.
