Identifying Word Classes
These exercises allow students to understand word classes within paragraphs. Very often they need to identify a word when it stands by itself therefore sometimes they don’t understand that words can change word classes. These exercises allow them to see them within context.

Hi there. I often find that children are taught how to add suffixes to words but they really don't understand how it affects the word class. Here children learn that verbs can change into nouns and they get adequate practice with them. It also challenges them to write sentences which makes them have to think very carefully about their wording. Useful answer sheet at the end..Thanks...
