Was and were are the past tenses of verb "to be". 23 easy to read, child friendly sentences with missing were or was. 1- Identify the subject of the sentence. 2- Identify whether it is a singular or plural noun. 3- Fill in the blank in the sentences using ‘was’ or ‘were’ 4- Then on the line at the end write whether the noun was singular or plural. My class really like these: add together the two numbers at the bottom that are in the same colour box. Then write the answers in the boxes in the middle. Add together the two numbers in the boxes and write the total in the star shape at the top. Differentiated worksheets uploaded (easy/missing numbers/DIY blank etc.) Also easy to edit.
