This is based on an old game called You Say We Pay or Hot Seat.
The class is split into 2 or more teams. One member from one team comes to the front and sits in the “hot seat” with their back to the board. Their team mates have to describe the key term to the person in the “hot seat”. That team then has 1 minute to get as many words as they can. Then someone from the other team sits at the front and they have to get as many words as they can.
The resources included are:
A set of key terms covering the whole of the AQA Psychology RM course (over 100 words)
Two sets of the same key terms (over 150) including random Christmas words mixed in, as a fun game before Xmas holidays. I have included two sets of these same words, so it could be played twice with the same group as the words are in a different order.
An alternative way to use it:
Print the key terms instead and then get a student to describe as many as they can to the team to guess instead.
Or use them to play pictionary with the students
For AQA Psychology Forensic Topic. This is a full lesson on Atavistic form (Lombroso’s explanation). It includes a fun activity which can be done for open evening- serial killer or psychologist (the descriptions should be stuck on the back of the photos for each card).
After covering the features of Lombroso’s theory they examine their picture to see if their criminal has any of those features.
This is a range of exam question from short answer to shorter essay (10 marks). It includes about 40 marks worth of questions. Students can be given all of them or just some of them. I used them to create two different tests for 2 different classes.
Full topic summary for revision for AQA Psychology - Includes wundt, cognitive, biological, behaviourist, social learning theory, psychodynamic and humanism approaches.
I give the students a copy of the student version (usually 2 slides to page) to complete and annotate while I go through the teacher version as a class. Sometimes I make them complete the slide independently first, to see what they know before going through the teacher version.
