This is a full lesson and homework for the year 1 statistics part of the course. It has a ppt covering significance and the 5% level of probability as well as how to do a sign test. It includes 3 examples of sign test studies to practise on including one where the students carry out their own study and collate the data to show the whole process. Note: One is tricky so can be an extension for stretch and challenge. It also includes a homework sheet to practise sign tests, drawing conclusions and maths bits and another document of past sign test questions for more practise. Answers/teacher copies are provided for the examples and homework. A2 Stats lesson has also been uploaded and this can be bought as a bundle of all my first year lessons for RM.

For AQA Psychology. Full lesson and homework exam questions for the working model of memory, which takes me 1 hour 30 mins - 2 hours to complete. It covers all the key elements on the ppt and included is a notes sheet which the students complete as we work through the lesson to save on note taking. This is the evaluation lesson i do, and summary activities for the Psychodynamic Approach. This includes a powerpoint of notes and activities. I get them to complete the note sheet while going through the ppt to save taking too many notes. There are then activities to complete once the definitions have been covered including a card sort, applied case study and an essay plan. There are sometimes answers or instructions on the notes part of the powerpoint. There are also video links on the powerpoint. This takes me two lessons (1 hr and 30 mins each) to complete the full set of activities.

Powerpoint and Activities for Characteristics and Explanations for Phobias (1-2 hour lesson). Designed for AQA Psychology Psychopathology module. It includes a powerpoint and notes sheet with some built in activities. I usually get them to complete the notes sheet as I go through the powerpoint. This is a very detailled presentation (47 slides) about approaching AQA exam questions. It covers: Evaluation Comparison Application Terminology (e.g use of the words reliability and validity) It gives advice and examples to demonstrate how to succeed in AQA exams. Great for a revision lesson with students.

For Treatments it includes a notes sheet (for student use while going through the powerpoint), a gap fill, kahoot quiz link and activities in powerpoint to complete. A full lesson or couple of lessons on cognitive interviews. Could take up to 2 hrs if needed. Includes: Powerpoint Notes sheet - for students to take their notes into (includes essay plan and exam questions, activities and evaluation sheet) Video link -to a great documentary which demonstrates use of cogntive interviews. Also included is a link to an activity (takes about 20 mins) about detecting liars - not related to CI but the students find it interesting.

This is a full lesson of resources for the Psychosexual stages of the Psychodynamic Approach. It includes a ppt with activities and a video link in it. I teach using the ppt and the students make notes into the notes sheet to avoid writing too much. This notes sheet has activities inbedded in it for them to do as well. For the stages, I place the cards of info around the room and they move around the room reading the cards of info and filling in their tables. The other psychodynamic assumptions are uploaded on another lesson.

AQA Psychology Full lesson for neural explanations (prefrontal cortex and amygdala damage in violent offenders) from the forensic topic. Includes ppt with video links and suggested articles for reading. Fun tests the students can do to see their tendency toward being a “psychopath” in their thinking. Help with PEEL evaluation points.

A full lesson for the AQA Approaches topic Origins of Psychology Has a powerpoint and notes sheet that is completed as the powerpoint is worked through. Several applied activities and videos included Also has some exam questions and simplified mark schemes so the students can have a go at marking them themselves.

A whole series of over 85 psychology strange “facts” to cut up into individual cards. I made a “psychology fact of the week” board and then changed these week by week. I laminated them all individually and chopped them up. Then put a dollop of blue tack on the weird fact board and just rotated the facts. Could also be used at an open evening as a display board as well to stimuate discussion about the subject. Could be used as a fact or fiction activity for the first introductory lesson too if you wanted to. NOTE: I believe them all to be facts, but some have come from google so you never know!

A full lesson for Family Dysfunction and Cognitive Explanations of Schizophrenia. Includes a powerpoint, notes sheet. Also has an essay activity. If the students cut up the essay where there is a line break between sections then try and stick it back together as a complete essay. Answers are provided for this task on the 3rd page of the document.

This was designed for students to complete in their independent study after covering each of the elements of Psychopathology for AQA Psychology. Has summary activities and exam questions and would work well as an independent revision booklet. It is 15 pages long and ive included a PDF and word version.
