A complete lesson with the LO: to discover the life and work of Charles Darwin. The first half of the lesson uses a Primary source (letter) to unpick who Darwin was and to ask questions about his character and motivations. During the second half of the lesson, the students will compile a timeline of his greatest achievements and life events. All resources are included, and although extra research could be included to expand the timelines, all the information about the main events in his life, are included in the resources. The lesson focuses on how to describe a setting or character precisely, by using figurative language and devices The class explore these by looking at extracts together, before going onto try the techniques for themselves.
