This resource is on New Zealand currency - 10c, 20c, 50c, $1.00 and $2.00 coins Aimed at: Keystage 1/2 The worksheets are in colour and black and white. WITH ANSWER SHEETS Each of the four worksheets contain a variety of tasks for students to complete on the topic of buying school stationery. Worksheet 1 - Students look at the pictures and price of each item and then work out how much two items of school supplies cost. Two questions at the bottom: Which student spent the most? Which student spent the least amount of money? Worksheet 2 - This worksheet is similar to the above except students are working out what 3 items of school stationery cost. Worksheet 3 - Students answer 6 questions about the items, e.g. Which item is the most expensive? How much less does the sharpener cost than the ruler? etc. The next task is to write the new price for each item which has risen by 10 cents. Worksheet 4 - The first task is to write the new price of the items which have risen by 30 cents. Second task - to add up 3 items of school supplies at the new price. Worksheet 5 - Sale Now On! - Students reduce the price of each item by 20 cents. This product contains worksheets relating to pairs of matching onset and rime CVC words. A lovely addition to your phonics lesson to support phonic work. It consists of 2 sets of 54 worksheets together with picture and word cards in color and black and white. Teacher’s Notes included for suggested activities. Students look at the picture and say what it is. Then they color in the letters that make that word. When they have colored in the letter, the children rearrange them to spell the word and write it on the handwriting guide line. If some students get stuck, I have included word cards with the same pictures which you can put in the middle of the table for the students to find that matching picture that is also on the worksheet. UPDATED with two trace and write sentences worksheets for the more able students. This product contains a set of worksheets relating to CVC phonics work. Students practise reading, writing and drawing CVC words. The worksheets can be used as assessment to check on the progress of individuals and so the worksheets are ideal for small group work. Teacher Notes included. The worksheets are: • Read and Write (3 Worksheets) Sight words: I, can, see and a. Students complete each sentence with a missing word using the picture as a visual aid. When they have used the word, they tick the box below the picture. The students can colour in when they have finished. • Read and Draw (7 Worksheets) Students read the CVC word by sounding out and blending and then draw the picture that represents the word. They can trace inside the letters with a pencil or with different colour pencils to make rainbow words. As an extension activity for the more able students, they can use sight words they know to write a sentence using each word on the worksheet below the picture, on whiteboards or into their workbooks. • Read and Trace (4 Worksheets) These worksheets can be used as guided reading in a small group setting or one-to-one teaching. (x2) and 3-D Properties Information Sheet The mat can be used for the 3D challenge quiz. There are 8 questions to be answered. Differentiated 3D Shapes Search and Colour (x3). Children colour the shapes using the colour key. Shapes Match Up and Cut/paste Sorting Shapes + Answer Sheets. (a) Children draw lines from the shape to the real objects and then label the shapes. (b) This is a shape sort task – Children cut out the objects on worksheet 2 and then sort and glue into the correct column on worksheet 1. Differentiated 3D Shapes – What Am I? This product relates to recording data, completing tally charts, creating a pictogram and completing block graphs. Aimed at: KS1 Content and description: - Teacher Notes Favourite Colour Hearts: • Worksheet A – Students complete the tally chart by counting the hearts shown below. • Worksheet B – Cut and glue activity. Students use the data from the tally chart to colour in the hearts. Then they cut out the hearts and glue onto the pictogram worksheet to produce a pictogram. Students then give the pictogram a title. • Worksheet C – Students answer questions relating to the pictogram/tally chart. (9 questions and colour the heart in their favourite colour) - ANSWERS PROVIDED • Additional work – Block Graph Worksheet. Students complete the graph with the same data used for the pictogram above. ANSWERS PROVIDED Valentine Letters: (Option to give out as homework) • Worksheet 1 – Students count the letters sent by each class and write the total in the circle. • Worksheet 2 – Students complete a tally chart from the data on Worksheet 1. • Worksheet 3 – Students create a pictogram independently using the data from the tally chart. • Worksheet 4 – Students complete the block graph and fill in the missing word in the gap to describe the vertical side of the graph. • Worksheet 5 – Students answer questions on the data. The students will be doing the same tasks as on the worksheets but practically. Read out Worksheet A and then say they will be working out the same problems but using A4 size laminated templates, dry-wipe pens and Velcro/blu tack. This resource is primarily aimed at EYFS/Reception and Year 1 as it relates to subtraction to 10 and writing subtraction sentences using a Tens Frame. Content: • All Task Cards are also on PowerPoint – 55 Slides • PowerPoint Demo Lesson • 55 Subtraction Task Cards - PDF PowerPoint Slides - Task Cards The cards are on PowerPoint Slides so you have the option of changing the colour of the counters and also moving the slides around. You can do this activity as a whole class. Hand out whiteboards and dry erase pens. Ask students to work out the first subtraction sum. Ask what did they do first? How did they write the taking away sum? PowerPoint Demonstration (6 Slides) on how to do the task cards This presentation shows students how to go about writing and working out the subtraction sums. There are 6 slides which show step-by-step how to use the task cards. Before you show the next stage, you could ask students ‘What do you do next?’ before showing the next step. Ask the students to count the counters/dots as they appear in the animation. Ask students how many counters are crossed when the animation has crossed through the counters/dots. Get the students to say how many counters are left before revealing the answer. 55 Subtraction Task Cards (PDF) Print out the task cards and laminate. These can be used in small group sessions or as part of a whole lesson. After showing the demo on how to use the task cards, students can practise writing taking sums. Make it clear to the students that they must count all the counters on the tens frame, the big number, and write this down. Then count the counters with the crosses which shows they have been taken away. You could even cover up the counters with crosses with a blank sheet of paper show demonstrate they have been taken away. Ideal to use in group settings - each table has a dedicated activity and the children can move round once they have had a go or completed an activity. <strong>Content:</strong> Teachers Notes on activities -Whole page color words surrounded by bubbles -Whole page color words for children to trace over the dashes Color word cards - upper case letters Color word cards - lower case letters Selection of color pictures with labels Black and white pictures for children to color in Clipart buttons in a variety of colors Colors : red, brown, blue, orange, black, green, gray, yellow, white, purple and pink. <strong>• Activity 1</strong> – You can direct the children to use any color equipment to fill in the color words and the bubbles – paint, crayons, felt tips, pencils. <strong>• Activity 2</strong> – Children join up the dashes to complete the letters and then color in the word. They can draw things that are usually that color. <strong>• Activity 3</strong> – Use IT Paint Palette on computer to create a colorful picture or simply a rainbow. US Version - This product contains a 39 Slide PowerPoint Presentation on sound and the practical tasks the children can undertake. The Teacher’s Note sets out how you can introduce the topic and suggestions on how to organize the activities and list resources needed. You can organize a carousel system - so each table deals with a different aspect on sound or you can do a whole class lesson on one aspect of sound week by week, ending the term on a sound carousel for assessment. The resource comprises: PowerPoint Presentation – Review Work on sounds and contains background information on how the piano, guitar and wind instruments work and how we hear. Teacher’s Notes (3 pages, excluding credit page) 14 Activity Cards to be laminated and cut out for each table. The cards contain questions to prompt the children to carry out their tasks. There are ready-made investigations sheets and sample investigations sheets. Numbered Table cards. Vocabulary cards (See Preview Pane) Worksheet on How We Hear Worksheet on Volume and Pitch Experiments include: Vibration involving moving objects- e.g. students can experiment with a tuning forks and water and ping pong balls, rice on drums. Sound and Pitch - e.g. use empty bottles filled with different levels of liquid to produce different pitches and also blow horizontally along the edge to produce sounds similar to wind instruments; and/or experiment with guitar strings –shortening and lengthening the string to produce different sounds; Listening devices - experiment with different string telephones by changing variables such as type of string and material of cups; Blocking Out Sound activities- students can make ear defenders out of margarine tubs packed with different materials or they can wrap the sound source like a buzzer or alarm clock with different materials to see which is best at muffling the sound. Optional - Musical Instruments - Students can make musical instruments or use the ones they may have made in previous lessons - to adjust how they use it or even make it better - can experiment with various aspects of sound. Outside activity - How sound gets fainter as you travel further away - Use a sound source like a buzzer. This literacy resource contains ready-made bingo cards and call out cards, 3 x 3 lotto grids, word searches, word cards for matching games and cards for word snap. **UPDATED WITH TO USE LESS PRINTER INK** 100 sight words obtained from the Primary National Strategy - Letters and Sounds: Appendices - 100 high-frequency words in phases. Use to complement reading activities, literacy and for learning words for spelling tests and assessment. Also great for end of term games. All the bingo boards and lotto boards are numbered and colour-coded for ease of use. There are two versions of the letter ‘K’ in Sassoon font. I have made extra cards for replacement. The words cover Phases 2 to 5 and comprises:- Phase 2 words - bingo cards (x17) Phase 3 words - bingo cards (x15) Phase 4 words - bingo cards (x15) Phase 5 words - bingo cards (x15) Phases 2-5 bingo cards (x40) - Use for whole class option, if you wish. A set of 3 x 3 grid lotto cards - (x20) for Phase 2, (10x) of each set for Phases 3 to 5. Set of wrongly spelt word cards for matching with a set of correctly spelt words – Put a few correct/incorrect words in the centre of the table for groups to match the jumbled words to the correctly spelt words, e.g. hte - the, pepole - people. Lotto game - There are a set of 3 x 3 grid lotto cards. The children can play as individuals or in pairs or in small groups. One child picks a word from a bag or box and read it aloud. The children mark the word on their card by colouring over or placing a counter over the word. The first one to complete a line horizontally, vertically or diagonally wins the game. 10 Word searches with solutions. Use the word cards for other activities such as laying out five different word cards and ask the pupil to point to the card that says, e.g. ‘about’. Set a time limit on how many sight words the pupils can read in a minute. Multi-purpose use of the white word cards. You can also use the word cards as displays.
