This resource is on the hundred square and the 1-120 square/grid. Students gain practice in moving up and down in tens and matching tens and ones/units grids to the numbers on the hundred square. Referring to the hundred square to complete word problem questions.
If you are looking for some hundred square activities, then resource is ideal for use in lessons, review and homework.
Answer Keys included.
Content:
• Worksheet 1 – (2 pages) - Students complete the hundred square from 1 to 100. After completing it, there are 11 questions to answer.
• Worksheet 2 – (2 pages) - Students fill in the partially completed hundred square. After completing it, there are 7 activities to do. Three of the activities include students shading in every two jumps for counting in two, every five jumps for counting in fives and every ten jumps for counting in tens.
• Hundred Square -Tens/Ones Activities (A to E)
Students work out what each tens and ones grid represent and write the number in the circle and then shade in the number on the hundred square. The first example has been done.
• 2x Cut/Paste missing numbers puzzle on a hundred square.
Students will see that there are missing extracts of grids from the hundred square. They cut out the grids and glue them in the correct spaces on the hundred square.
• Missing numbers on a hundred square.
Students will see parts of a hundred square which they complete with the missing numbers.
• 10 More than/Less than Word Problems.
Students read the 8 word problems and use the grid to help them work out the answers.

Students write simple sentences using each of the beginning blends shown in the grid with pictures. They should check their work making sure they start their sentence with a capital/uppercase letter and finish with a full stop.

Worksheet 1: Students select one correct blend to complete the word in the sentence.
Worksheet 2: Students select two correct blends to complete the words in the sentence.
Colour by Code: Spring flowers (2 versions) – with Solution.
The blends in this activity are colour-coded. The consonant blends are: br, cl, fl, sl, sp, pr and tr.
The image shows words and pictures beginning with consonant blends.
First version: the colours are displayed with the beginning consonants in order to colour the images correctly, students use the colour code to complete the activity.

The worksheets are in colour and black and white.
WITH ANSWER SHEETS
Each of the four worksheets contain a variety of tasks for students to complete on the topic of buying school stationery.
Worksheet 1 - Students look at the pictures and price of each item and then work out how much two items of school supplies cost.
Two questions at the bottom: Which student spent the most? Which student spent the least amount of money?
Worksheet 2 - This worksheet is similar to the above except students are working out what 3 items of school stationery cost.
Worksheet 3 - Students answer 6 questions about the items, e.g. Which item is the most expensive? How much less do the crayons cost than the ruler? etc.
The next task is to write the new price for each item which has risen by 10c.
Worksheet 4 - The first task is to write the new price of the items which have risen by 20c. Second task - to add up 3 items of school supplies at the new price.
Worksheet 5 - Sale Now On! - Students reduce the price of each item with the stated amount. They then recalculate the items of stationery bought.
Additional worksheets:
Drawing coins to match the price tags - students use the fewest number of coins as many times as they can.
Add up the coins and write the total on the price tag for each object shown.

Description
Cut and Paste to match Puzzle pieces
Place a selection of Aa – Zz puzzle sheets on tables for children to cut out and match upper and lower case letters and stick into workbook or on a separate sheet of paper.
They can trace inside the letters with different colour pencils (rainbow tracing).
For the capital letter part of the puzzle ask children to write words beginning with capital letters such as their name if it begins with that letter, a city, day or month, a place of interest etc and draw pictures.
For the lower case part of the puzzle, ask children to write and draw things beginning with that letter that does not always begin with a capital letter.

‘Aa is for’ to ‘Zz is for’ activity – tell children they need to colour in the picture that begins with that letter and not to colour in the other pictures.

The boards are colour-coded with the word cards. On each board there are 9 cvc pictures and 3 alien pictures.
There are 9 real word cards and 3 alien/pseudo-words for each picture board.
Learn to read consonant, vowel, consonant(cvc) words via games - children choose any board number (Board 1 to Board 8) which are colour-coded with the word cards, e.g. Board 1 (yellow) with yellow word cards. H/she chooses a board and read the word on the card and cover the picture that matches the word. The alien pictures can be covered with any of the pseudo-word cards.
Children can play in twos/threes - choose the colour of their boards and word cards. Shuffle the set of word cards and lay them face down on the table. They take turns turning over a card. If a card matches their board colour, s/he reads the word and covers the picture for that word. If the colour does not match or s/he cannot read the word, the word card is put back face down on the table.
Using the word cards only - shuffle a selection of cards and the child reads as many words as s/he can.
Additional use to check progress:
For the teacher/assistant - Optional 8 Phonics screening check sheets - On each sheet there is a list of words that correspond to the set of word cards. Select a set of cards and as the child reads each card you complete the phonics screening sheet.

This is an assembly presentation on the topic of Guy Fawkes and bonfire night celebrated on 5 November in the UK.
The presentation can also be used as part of a lesson as there are 42 slides with optional follow-up activities.
Depending on how long your assembly is, you can choose what to include in as the presentation is editable.
It is divided into four sections:
• Celebrating with fireworks
• Guy Fawkes and the Gunpowder Plot
• How we celebrate today and fireworks code
• Ending assembly with our freedom to practise our own religion and a prayer.
You can begin your assembly from Slide 11 which covers the gunpowder plot and why 5th November is a special day.
The presentation contains a glossary and the list of conspirators.
The follow-up activities relate to what they have learnt in assembly or if using as a lesson, to consolidate their learning.

Worksheet 1 : Children draw and write simple sentences relating the five senses they use during a fireworks display. An example of this is on Slide 33.
Worksheet 2: Children write and draw four things they have learnt about the Gunpowder Plot.
Worksheet 3: This is a Guy Fawkes rhyme activity - using the well-known rhyme Remember, Remember, the fifth of November, children answer some questions on the rhyme, there is phonic and word work and children are asked to write in their own words ‘Why should 5th November never be forgot?’ The more able children may be able to complete this and the less able can discuss it.

Stained Glass Window Jigsaw Puzzle
This is a 9-piece jigsaw puzzle activity in which students cut out the pieces and arrange them on the worksheet before sticking down.
It is also differentiated - there is a sheet with two puzzle pieces stuck down for students to complete the rest of the puzzle with the remaining 7 pieces.

Print and laminate the whole card or you can cut apart the strips and mix them up.
Children look at the picture and say what it is. They then unscramble the word in the centre and write it out correctly using phonemes previously taught.
Other suggested use:
You can cut apart the strips so that you have 56 onset and rime strips. Select the strip you want children to match up and unscramble the cvc words.
Children can match up the pictures that rhyme and then unscramble the words and say the cvc words that rhyme. They can record their work in their literacy workbooks.
Objectives:
To be able to use phonological knowledge to unscramble CVC words
To be able to sort pictures that rhyme and match onset and rime words.

a progression from CVC and CCV to CCVC Phase 4: Letters and Sounds Phonics.
Aimed at: Early Years and keystage 1, SEND and ESL/EFL students.
It is an addition to my other resources on initial consonant blends.

PowerPoint Presentation 1 (36 Slides)- includes explanation of initial blend, CCVC words; whole class/group activities to prepare children for their independent activities.

PowerPoint Phoneme Presentation (12Slides) - Optional (Use as reference) - some children may still be struggling with segmenting/blending) - I have listed a few CCVC words and the units of sound above the fingers so that children can see and hear the separate phonemes (with pictures) - extension some children may be able to give you other meaning for the words in a sentence.
Encourage children to make simple sentences with the words to understand its meaning and distinguish between nouns, verbs or adjectives.

Activity Sheet 1 - Cut and paste task - cut out the circle and words, glue into workbook or on a separate worksheet matching words to picture - extension write a sentence for each word.
