This resource focuses on the legend of Saint Patrick and myths.
The PowerPoint Presentation includes whole class activities and there are questions at the end of the presentation.
Children are encouraged to participate in discussion about the different myths and legends in relation to St Patrick/St Patrick’s Day.

Lesson 1: Children link the shamrock St Patrick is holding to Irish myths, including leprechaun costumes that they might see on St Patrick’s Day celebrations. Learn the difference between myths and legends. They look at mythical beasts and describing words and phrases.
Differentiated worksheets - With support - LA draw their own picture of Cyclops and label the parts with adjectives.
MA/HA - Draw own picture of Cyclops or create their own mythical creature and label it with adjectives and and use simple sentences to describe in more detail, e.g. its body was as big as a house.
Extension: Complete Patrick’s Day Factsheet (colour in/4 questions).
Lesson 2: Previous is lesson reviewed. This lesson focuses on the retelling of myths and sequencing events. Three mythical stories on PowerPoint are read out and children decide which one they like better and what makes them interesting. Discuss what happened at the beginning, middle and end of the stories.
Differentiated Activity 1 - Lower Ability children cut out and sequence three pictures and write a simple sentence below each picture called St. Patrick and the Serpent.
Middle Ability - Cut out sentences and glue below the correct pictures to tell the story of St Patrick and the Serpent .
High Ability - Retell legend of St Patrick and the Serpent. First they draft and then write out neatly.
Early finishers: Draw or find a picture of a person whom they regard as a legend and write why.

It is versatile in that you can save as a different name and then adapt to suit the timing of your assembly.

There is a total of 25 worksheets with three different activities.
Some students may require concrete objects to help them.
To make this a practical lesson together with the worksheets, you can set out base 10 towers or dienes, unifix cubes or other objects to help students set out tens and ones/units columns and then complete the worksheets.

Worksheets 1 to 6:
Students complete a table.
On the left-hand side are numbers. For each number students describe the number in tens and ones. Worksheet 1 shows the first example, e.g. the number 16 is 1 ten and 6 ones.

Aimed at: Year 1/Year 2; SEN
If your pupils are still struggling with the concept of partitioning/splitting numbers into tens and ones and adding and subtracting mentally, then this resource provides hands-on activity.
Once the pupils have grasped the basic, they can then match the tens and ones buttons to base 10 blocks.
Content:
Worksheets (x4) - Understanding numbers. Pupils count the buttons and draw around 10 and count on the ones. They write the number and partition it following the example on the worksheet. E.g Count 12, circle 10 buttons - write 10 and 2 and show that it is 1 ten and 2 ones.
Addition of two-digit numbers worksheets (x5) : The first page shows pupils an example (add the tens and then the ones) and then they complete the two sums. The remaining 4 worksheets require the pupils to cut and paste tens and ones to match the equations and then solve it.
Subtraction of two-digit numbers worksheets (x4 : The first worksheets explains that the pupils need to take away the tens and then the ones. E.g. 15 - 11 = Pupils cut and paste tens and ones for the first number only. Then they look at the second number ‘11’ and cross out the tens and then the ones.
Tens and ones Match up worksheets (x3) - Cut/paste activity - Pupils match up the tens and ones buttons to the base 10 towers and then write the number it represents.
Worksheets (x2): Counting from 10, counting on different numbers of buttons and from 20, counting on different numbers of buttons. There are couple of questions for the students to answer.

A Thanksgiving mixed bag of differentiated math worksheets and practical activities ideal for math centers.
Content
Teacher notes (5 pages). You could set up math stations for students.
Optional lesson starter PowerPoint (0 to 20) – Whole class counting aloud backwards and forwards. You can assess students’ knowledge - which number comes after 7 or what numbers comes before 11 and practice one more/one less.
Picture Number Puzzle Strips x7 (color/b/w) – The strips range from 1 to 10, 11 to 20 and then counting by 2s to 20; counting by 2s using odd numbers, e.g. 1, 3, 5 etc and even numbers – 2, 4, 6 etc.
Numeral cards 0- 20 in words and figures for various activities such as matching numbers to number words; sorting odd and even numbers.
3 sets of Picture cards (pumpkin, pumpkin pie and ‘We are thankful’ cards) – to be used with a variety of activities with the numeral cards, as outlined in teacher notes. E.g. Group activity, you or a student can shuffle the cards 1 to 10 and place them face down on the table. Another student takes a card and then count out the picture cards to match the number.
Tens frames and turkey cards for various activities such as missing number in an equation.
Place for example 7 cards on the tens frame and then write:

Students fill in the missing number above each turkey. Students are counting by 1s forward and backwards starting from any number.
Write the number before and after (2 pages) - Students trace inside the middle number and then write the number that comes before and after.

This is an assembly presentation on the topic of Guy Fawkes and bonfire night celebrated on 5 November in the UK.
The presentation can also be used as part of a lesson as there are 42 slides with optional follow-up activities.
Depending on how long your assembly is, you can choose what to include in as the presentation is editable.
It is divided into four sections:
• Celebrating with fireworks
• Guy Fawkes and the Gunpowder Plot
• How we celebrate today and fireworks code
• Ending assembly with our freedom to practise our own religion and a prayer.
You can begin your assembly from Slide 11 which covers the gunpowder plot and why 5th November is a special day.
The presentation contains a glossary and the list of conspirators.
The follow-up activities relate to what they have learnt in assembly or if using as a lesson, to consolidate their learning.

A lovely addition to Numbers/Number Words 1 and 2.
Number word to number match up Worksheets (x5) - Children draw a line from a number word to match up to its numeral. Each worksheet gets harder.
Counting worksheets (x4) - Each ten frames shows different number of dots which the children count and write in words in the space provided.
Double Ten Frames Read and Draw worksheets (x3)- Teen numbers up to 20. Children read the number words and then draw the same number of dots.
One more/one less worksheets (x5) - Children read the numbers in words and then write in words one less and one more on either side of the number word. In addition, two of the worksheets have a missing letters activity. Children insert the missing letters in the number words.
Doubles worksheets (x3); and
Writng doubles number sentences worksheets (x5) - Each box contains robots which the children count. They write the number in figures and in words. Then they double the number and write in figures and words. The worksheets are differentiated in that some children may be able to write doubles number sentences.
