In this ‘I Spy’ autumn/fall related product, students have to seek and find 18 two-dimensional pumpkin shapes. There are two sets of ‘I Spy’ worksheets: Students draw a circle around the matching shapes: Set 1: For more able students who can find the shape regardless of the pumpkin pattern. Set 2: For students who need to see the exact pattern and shape. When all the shapes are found, students should write the name of the shape at the bottom of the worksheet. In addition, there are 2D pumpkin flash cards with shape names which students can use to identify the shapes. Alternative use: Play snaps or memory matching game with the cards. This product relates to addition and subtraction two step word problems. There are 36 worksheet activities (layout is 2 on a landscape sheet) which you can cut apart or leave as is. The worksheets are with color and b/w pictures for each problem. There is also a PowerPoint presentation showing how you can solve each problem and write the two step equations with a final answer. Content: PowerPoint Presentation Worksheets Answer Sheets which you can laminate and cut into cards Teacher Notes PowerPoint Presentation 8 Slides (Slide Show Mode for animation) Use the presentation as a whole class activity and go through suggested examples of how students can work through two step problems. Students can even work through one of the worksheet activities displayed on the PowerPoint and then share their solutions. Worksheet activities If you are looking to introduce your students to two-step addition and subtraction problems then these worksheets are suitable just to ease the students in. There are no trick word problems. There is an opportunity for students to use their own methods of solving the questions and share with the class. Other Suggested Uses You can use the activity sheets in small group work and one-to-one teaching. You can use manipulatives to explain the problem and highlight what needs to be written down to solve the two-step equations. For example, Activity 35: use real paper to solve how many sheets of paper are left in the school secretary’s printer. Early Finishers Use the worksheets as an extension to your lesson on two-step math problems. If you have students that work very quickly then place these worksheet activities in the extra work tray for them to access. They can self-check with the answer sheets/cards. This product relates to alphabet uppercase and lowercase letters and pictures beginning with letters of alphabet and displays for classroom. Aa to Zz friezes (labeled and unlabeled pictures). Laminate and punch holes and thread through with a string to hang around the classroom or peg onto a washing line across a wall. Aa – Zz word strips and related pictures Laminate and cut out and place in resource center Students trace over the initial dotted letter with dry-wipe pen Alphabet cards Alphabet cards to be printed off as many times as you require, laminate and cut out. students can play alphabet snap. Match up - Match lower case letters to upper case letters. Other games – lay out 4 or 5 letters in alphabetical order, e.g. k, l, m, n, o, cover them over. Take a letter away without the students seeing and ask which letter is missing. Practice writing frames using Sassoon dotted font These are in upper and lower cases. Each one should be laminated. After focussing on e.g. ‘t’, students can practice writing over the dots and then without the dots on the line. Alphabet Mat Practice (trace over dotted letters) Copy and laminate Students can keep it in their own trays Alphabet Mat Can be laminated and blu tac to the wall in the writing/reading/book corner. Can be used to assess a student’s phonic progress - name and sound out the letters Alphabet Pictures Games The pictures represent the start of a letter e.g. ‘g’ for grasshopper. The pictures are not in alphabetical order so students have to look for the picture that begins with that letter. Enlarge the A4 size sheet to A3 and the sheet with the alphabet. Laminate the Alphabet Pictures sheet Laminate the Alphabet sheet then cut out each letter tile for use with Alphabet Pictures. Students can play in pairs. A timer can be set to make the game more fun. A student asks his/her partner to find the picture beginning with ‘s’. The other student picks out one of the letters and places it over that picture on the Alphabet Picture Mat. Content Teacher’s notes 2 Sets of Aa-Zz puzzle pieces – Cut/paste Aa-Zz -Matching letters of the alphabet to pictures Aa-Zz - Tracing over letters and matching to pictures Cut and Paste to match Puzzle pieces Place a selection of Aa – Zz puzzle sheets on tables for children to cut out and match upper and lower case letters and stick into workbook or on a separate sheet of paper. They can trace inside the letters with different color pencils or crayons (rainbow tracing). For the uppercase part of the puzzle ask students to write words beginning with capital letters such as their name if it begins with that letter, a city, day or month, a place of interest etc and draw pictures. For the lowercase part of the puzzle, ask students to write and draw things beginning with that letter that does not always begin with a capital letter. Please see sample preview in preview pane. Matching letters to pictures and color activity ‘Aa is for’ to ‘Zz is for’ activity – tell children they need to color in the picture that begins with that letter and not to color in the other pictures.
