The lesson is specific the new Edexcel 9-1 GCSE and part of topic 5. The lesson starts with a review of the previous learning. Before a circus of information gathering, comprising of 4 tasks to help the students take ownership of their learning. The students the attempt a worksheet with an extension task built in to the lessons. The students finish the lesson with an exam question.

Lesson 4b is the follow on for lesson 4. The lesson is written inline with the specification points for Topic 5 Edexcel 9-1 new GCSE. The lesson starts with a differentiated started where the students work up a pyramid of tasks. The information is presented of the methods the body has to defend itself from pathogens before a hinge question assesses understanding of the topic an directs the students to an appropriate task. The lesson finishes with an exam question that can be recorded in the learning outcome tracker.

Cells, Cell control, Genetics and Health and Disease x 50 lessons

These 4 Biology topics comprise of approximately 50 lessons. The idea of these resources was to make very self sufficient lessons that could consistently deliver good to outstanding outcomes. The series of lesson have AFL and differentiation built into ensure that planning time in reduced so feedback can be a priority.

Free body diagrams - Lesson 10: Forces and Energy

(0)
The lesson starts by recapping what a force diagram is before looking at examples of force diagrams. There is the a active watch video with HOTS questions to answer. The understanding is assessed via a mini-whiteboard identification of forces. The lesson further assesses understanding with a hinge question an this leads a differentiated activity on force diagrams. The lesson concludes with an exit ticket.

Forces and Energy end of unit exam.

(0)
This is the end of unit test that assesses learning the the series of work. There is a grade converter to give and accurate idea of the 9-1 grades these student would currently be working at. There is a flight path to assess whether the student is on track or not.

year 7 particles - lesson 1: states if matter

(0)
The lesson starts with a riddle to promote scientific thinking before moving on to describe the 3 states of matter. The students have to construct meaning via putting the key phrases next to the state of matter. There is then a work sheet aimed at promoting scientific thinking before the lesson concludes with an exit ticket.

On the Wasted Years report recommendations this is the first lesson in a scheme of work that looks at preparing Year 6 students for secondary science. It is written by a secondary science teacher for the cross phase development program being run 2016-17. The spec is based on the interim assessment framework. The lesson states by reviewing solids, liquids and gases before starting to introduce the idea of particles and linking to the properties of the state of matter. This is modelled and presented to the students before they demonstrate their understanding using small balls/ marbles. The lesson then assesses understanding before directing the learning appropriate worksheet. The lesson review learning by the student producing a flow diagram and annotating inter conversions.
