This booklet HAS NOT yet been updated to feature the content of the new AQA specification and therefore SHOULD NOT be confused with the new Theme 1 content. Updated booklets with the new topics for the 2026 specification are in the works and will be available soon. You have a breakdown below of what topics this booklet covers.
This is a comprehensive exam practice booklet that covers Theme 1 of the AQA GCSE Spanish exam to prepare Foundation students for their READING component.
It contains 30 in-depth questions like multiple choice, answer in English, T/F/NM, Translations, V/F/NM, P/N/P+N and many others in order to get students used to to the format of the exam without the pressure of a mock or a real paper in front of them.
I designed this booklet as close to the real thing as possible because we all have students that panic just at the sight of a paper that looks like an exam and this is a great way to help them through their fears and allow them to get accustomed to the format of the exam without any marks or target grades.
The booklet covers the following subtopics of Theme 1:
Family (3x tasks)
Friends (3x)
Marriage & elationships (3x)
Technology (3x)
Social Media (3x)
Music (3x)
Sports (3x)
TV programmes & Films (3x)
Food (3x)
Festivals & Celebrations in Spain (3x)
This booklet can be used for cover lessons, homework, summer project for Y10s or as exam revision material to prepare for the GCSEs.
Additionally, the booklet comes with an extra booklet that has all the answers provided for each task so you can help students check their work or simply use them in your PPTs to discuss the answers.
***Both booklets come as separate PDFs.
**Please note this is the first booklet of a series of 6 for this component of the GCSE. Each theme will have a booklet and each tier will have their set of booklets suitable to their level.
The next booklet you can expect is Theme 2 (Foundation) Reading Practice that should be in the shop soon. So, don’t forget to come back!

Christmas End of Term Escape Room - If you’re looking for a fun way to end the term, look no further! This Escape Room is designed to give your students 40+ minutes of engaging and competitive time with their peers as they solve each puzzle in order to find the missing Christmas presents.
The Christmas Escape Room includes 7 TASKS that students must go through in order to find the presents. By working in teams of 3-5, your pupils will be using a variety of skills throughout the lesson, such as: problem-solving skills, critical thinking, teamwork, communication and even some maths skills!
Students will start by reading out a message left by an elf who is requesting their help in finding the missing Christmas presents. From then on, you will give each team the first task and when you receive a correct answer the second task can be given and so on, until they figure out where the presents are hidden.
WHAT YOU GET:
☞ Escape Room Slides (PDF) -You can keep tasks on the board for students to better see them. Once everyone has done a task you can change the slide to the next one - so there are no spoilers for those that haven’t finished.
☞ Escape Room Answers (PDF) - You have the answers to all the 7 tasks and thus can offer students clues to help them out in case they get stuck.
☞ Escape Room Instructions (PDF)- You have at your disposal instructions for each task and prompts on how to help students but also challenge them.
☞ Escape Room Printables file (PDF)- If you prefer to print the tasks larger than they are on the original slides I have compiled a file with all the puzzles that you can print separately for your students.
☞ Escape Room Certificate (PDF)- a certificate can be given to each team member that managed to find the presents (see image for design).
***Escape Room Puzzles - The Maze/The Puzzle/The Decoder/The Right Path/The Crossword/The Problem Solver/The Riddle - see images for puzzle designs and layout.
The Escape Room is extremely easy to use and instructions are provided for both students and teachers to make the transition between tasks a lot smoother. All you need to do is print the resources and create the teams!
I recommed having scissors available for each team if you plan to run Task 2 as it was originally intended. If not, students only need the printed tasks and perhaps some hints along the way!*
If you decide to purchase this Christmas Escape Room, I would love to hear any feedback you have, so please leave a review if you can! Also, please note that this is a resource in English not Spanish like my usual products.

This European Day of Languages (Spanish) Activity booklet is my go-to resource for EDL. I created this resource because as much as I tried I couldn’t find something to suit my Spanish lessons for European Day of Languages. I wanted something that immersed students into the importance of the event, but also coincided with my method of teaching Spanish.
The booklet is suitable for a KS3 Spanish lesson solely around European Day of Languages but can also be used for KS4 to raise awareness about this important event.
The booklet contains the following: Vocabulary building activities, listening, reading, and writing tasks as well as ANSWERS to each activity at the end of the booklet. All activities are based on a sentence builder I created for European Day of Languages and the majority can be done independently.
Some activities can be subjective so I have given you some suggested answers to offer students some guidance on how a task should have been approached or to use them as examples before letting students start the work.
I wanted to incorporate as many skills as possible in this and for teachers to have freedom over the activities they choose to do. You can do some of them or all of them, it’s up to you!
As this includes a sentence builder, the activities are very Conti style so you will have things like matching words up, filling in the gap, finding words/expressions in a text as well as guided writing with some prompts.
The listening tasks DO NOT INCLUDE recordings, as I usually do my own listenings in the classroom. In the answers section you will find everything you need to run the activities in the listening part so, no need to worry! I’ve often found students respond better to sentences said by me as they are familiar with my voice, accent and pronunciation. Plus, all the activities are based on the SB so, I didn’t want students to be overwhelmed by the amount of new language.
This booklet is ideally aimed at KS3 but it can absolutely be used with lower KS4 sets. The are plenty of activities which should take you at least 1h to go through. You can also give it as homework if you’d like.
*You will receive a PDF version of this booklet so no changes can be made for copyright reasons.

It shouldn’t take students more than 10-15 minutes to complete and if you’d like to expand the activity further you could always show them how some of these amazing places look through a Google search.
You will receive a PDF copy of the worksheet with ANSWERS included. I’ve made sure there is a black and white version as well as coloured one depending on your printer.
