The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust is creating a new bank of free resources to enable teachers to introduce Shakespeare’s stories, language and heritage in every part of the primary curriculum. These resources have been specially created as part of Shakespeare Week, our major new initiative to give every primary school child in Britain a great first encounter with the world’s most famous writer. Starting in March 2014, Shakespeare Week is set to become an annual calendar event which celebrates Shakespeare’s creative influence in schools, museums, theatres, galleries, libraries and historic places nationwide. Our experienced educational practitioners have developed fun and straightforward ideas that can be used to fill a short session or combined into term-long programmes and adapted for use outside the classroom.
