Draw perpendicular gradient on grids in these 7 worksheets to see and understand the relationship between the gradients of perpendicular lines. Excellent revision/extension for work on gradients. The answers are included.
Find the gradient of lines on grids and then draw lines perpendicular to them. Use y = mx + c to find the equations of perpendicular lines.
Ideal for bridging the gap between higher GCSE and AS-level and providing real understanding.

This set of money worksheets is written and illustrated for adults and older teenagers who want to improve their basic maths skills but it is also suitable for younger age groups.
The sheets begin at the level of adding up totals to 10p and progress through counting up the value of small sets of coins, counting in tens and making totals up to £1.
Practise counting up change when buying items with a pound coin or £5 and £10. Choose the correct coins or notes to pay the right amount for things.
Simple calculations involving the cost of buying several objects and the four rules. Convert amounts between punds and pence. See the problems caused by missing zeros when using a calculator. Rounding prices to estimate costs.
Each worksheet comes in three versions. Monochrome, colour or on-screen completion ( answers need to be checked by a tutor )
AVAILABLE CHEAPER at my Skillsheets website.
Powerpoint with accompanying worksheet to teach students how to make any number 100 times larger or smaller by moving the decimal point.
There is a variety of questions to use the skills in both real life practical situations and abstract calculations. The word problems include currency conversions, measurements and money.
This resource is a follow on to ‘Multiplying and Dividing Decimals by 10’.
The word problem slides could be extracted and used as revision during subsequent lessons.

These 8 worksheets were created to provide useful basic exercises on differentiating and integrating x^n for the first year of A level differentiation. Work through the basic results for x to the power n for positive and negative integers and fractions then apply them to functions that need to be simplified or rewritten before they can be differentiated or integrated.
These sheets are useful for revision or reinforcement. The answers are provided.

This powerpoint provides basic practice on the angle fact that the ‘angles on a straight line add up to 180°’. It has slides that just cover straightforward calculations that can be used for mental arithmetic practice and others that require a problem solving approach. Equations can also be written and solved to find the answers. Some slides use three letter notation to identify angles.

This colourful powerpoint uses diagrams, animations and photographs to introduce more vocabulary needed for working with circles e.g. chord, arc, sector and segment whilst revising the words introduced in ‘Circles- Introduction’ ( radius, diameter, circumference, centre, circular, semicircle ). It is aimed at GCSE students and below, both at foundation and higher level. The later slides show the connections between circles and 3D shapes and extend vocabulary to sphere, hemisphere, cylinder, ellipse, cone and concentric circles.
The slides have notes and suggestions accompanying them.
The worksheets further reinforce the names of different parts of circles and one is designed to make students draw and measure their own diagrams and introduces ideas they will meet later when studying circle theorems.
The video shows how to draw a hexagon by constructing it inside a circle using arcs. Some students find drawing circles very difficult and anything that motivates them to practise is useful.

G9 'Identify and apply circle definitions and properties, including : centre, radius, chord, diameter, circumference, tangent, arc, sector and segment.
See my other resource ‘Circles - Introduction’ which starts from the beginning with radius and diameter calculations, symmetry etc.

These ten worksheets guide students through the origin of the x² + y² = r² equation of a circle and use a variety of problems to reinforce their understanding of the equation and its uses. Tangents are also introduced as are the methods for finding points of intersection between lines and circles. There are plenty of reminders for solving simple quadratic equations like x² = 16 and also simultaneous equations where one equation is not linear.
Written for the GCSE 9-1 specs but the material is also useful for A-level C2 students. Some of the sheets are similar so one can be done in class and the other used for reinforcement. There are problem sheets to extend the most students. As ever, the aim with SKILLSHEETS is to encourage learners to think about what they are doing and use diagrams to help them understand the topic.

This collection of 10 worksheets will help students to visualise fractions better by shading diagrams to represent particular fractions. There is progression from the simple pages where the boxes can be shaded by just counting 3 out of 4 boxes for example to those where the student has to see how to split a 4x5 grid into tenths in order to shade 7/10. There are worksheets that require fractions to be identified then cancelled or for a diagram to be interpreted in two different ways e.g. 10/15 = 2/3. One page considers the shaded AND unshaded parts of a grid that must always make up the whole. The last page illustrates how fractions can be compared in size by converting them to have a common denominator.

9 worksheets containing linear equations where brackets need to be multiplied out as the first step. The sheets get progressively harder for extra practice or revision. The unknown appears on both sides of the equations. For the first worksheets the answers are all positive whole numbers but later equations have negative or fractional solutions.
Students are asked to check their answers for the first worksheets by putting the solution into both sides of the original equation to make sure it works out the same.
The answers and working out are included.

These seven worksheets are aimed at helping to get pupils to understand the < and > symbols properly before they move on to solving inequalities. The notation is explained carefully and tasks include asking students to write out a sentence to explain what the inequalities.
Several of the sheets are based on relating inequalities to numbers lines. There is a page of word problems to show how inequalities can be used to describe the real world. One worksheet asks students to insert the correct symbol < , > or = between two numbers ( including decimals, fractions and percentages ) to state the relationship between them.
