This is a lesson that sets up 3 lessons (plus homework) for students to be grouped together to look at patterns, trends and contemporary issues within families. Students are given the question prompts and have to create a 10 minute powerpoint presentation and teaching activity. I give students 3 lessons with ICT facilities in 2 of them.

End of Unit assessment including grade boundaries.

This is a double lesson if the whole of the documentary is watched. The lesson combines looking at the changing relationship between parents and their children, and the relationships with the wider family. 4 mark exam question to finish.

A lesson looking at Ann Oakley and the conventional family. There are some slides looking at the effects of the pressure of living a conventional lifestyle can have have on wellbeing such as financial implications, mental health issues etc. Students complete the proforma and comprehension questions.

This is a mini research unit that will be taught ahead of the units (after the introduction unit). It should take approximately 11 lessons to go through the basic research methods. I am aware this is no longer necessary to be taught as an explicit unit, however we feel they need the basic knowledge to be able to answer the questions in the different units. Lesson 2 looks at what a pilot study is and encourages students to pilot a questionnaire. There is a gap filler task for the sampling techniques and 3 exam questions with model answers. A lesson that looks at ethical issues, covers experiments in light of what ethical issues they pose and why they are rarely used in Sociological research followed by a consolidation task in which students evaluate all of the research methods covered in the unit. The feedback lesson includes a whole-class feedback slide, and both 4 mark questions have a model answer. The students highlight and mark this answer, identifying how it is a good answer. They then attempt a new 4 mark question acting on their feedback.

BTEC 9-1 Spec, GCSE Specification. Planned for AQA, but suitable for other exam boards. This unit is the same as the bundle currently in my shop. However, I needed to create a single unit resource, to be able to bundle all of the units together :) Planned as in introduction to Sociology. These lesson introduce the key sociological arguments, so that in later units you can get straight on with applying the theory to the unit. Please review if you download.

GCSE 9-1 Specification Paper 2 Crime and Deviance. These are all my Crime & Deviance lessons bundled together. This covers all of the theory content. This bundle does not include the final 5 lessons that are looking at patterns and trends.
