A new scheme of work aimed at KS3 Y7. This unit of work will be a Chronology of Monotheism. Starting with Genesis, moving through Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Each religion will cover Key religious figures, information on their holy book and a rite of passage/religious practice. The aim of this unit is to compliment our GCSE curriculum in which we study Christianity and Islam. The learning journey for the unit is included. Christian Denominations: Looking at how Christianity split and became different denominations. Using chocolate and football analogies. Students complete a market place activity to look at the different denominations and then complete a fact file.

This KS4 lesson (aimed at Y10) looks at how radicalisation happens. It is meant to last 100 minutes, but the final documentary is 30 minutes long and due to the nature of the topic students have a lot of questions/debate so it took me longer than a double lesson to teach this. BTEC National Level 3 Unit 1 Exam This lesson gives an overview of genetic predisposition and susceptibility. It also looks at pregnancy impacting fetal development and alcohol fetal syndrome. Students are then put into groups to research genetic conditions and feedback as a class.

A KS3 lesson (aimed at Year 8) to consider what crime is and how it impacts society. It uses local statistics from Rotherham, so you would need to tweak these activities to suit your local area.
