This Unit of Work provides 4 linked lesson plans that guide teaching of skills and techniques associated with 3 dimensional work with an emphasis on diversity of design in different cultures. Each lesson plan is broken down into how the work will be assessed, the structure of the lesson, cross curricular links and resources required. Also included for each lesson is a photocopiable information sheet for students, which is written in a student friendly manner. Students are encouraged through the scheme to analyse 3 dimensional artwork and vessels from cultures other than their own. They are then guided through the development of their own objects.

This resource provides NQTs with "at a glance" advice and support to help with the sometimes overwhelming first year in teaching. Advice is presented as a mind map, which can be printed as a handy sheet for planners or as a larger scale poster. Concentrating the mind on a straightforward activity such as colouring can have a calming effect and Allow for refocus. This resource might help an individual regain focus. Over 30 original drawings are provided ready for colouring. The drawings vary in complexity. Some are simple outline drawings, whilst others have looser shapes and lines which will require greater creative input. This resource can also be used as an extension activity or simply for fun. Suitable for SEN students, but equally suitable for main stream students.
