I have used this resource with my year 2 group of Expected/Working At and Greater Depth/Working Above readers to introduce them to reading chapter books. The children have really enjoyed the tasks. The children call this their ‘selfie questions’ as they answer them independently after reading in pairs. This resource contains planning for the entire book. Each session is based on 5 pages from the book. The questions cover a range of different types including retrieval, inference, prediction and clarification and each ‘selfie’ sheet has two extension tasks. This is a resource which could also be used with Year 3 readers as well.
