This is a unit of work my students really loved. Can be used for ages 13+. This can last 2-3 lessons. This is teaching students how to write a tension -filled piece of work. The lesson looks at examples from the recent James Bond film, ‘No Time to Die’, ‘No Country for Old Men’ and 'Archer. Please view the clips before the lesson to make sure you deem them appropriate. A really informative and interesting 30-slide PowerPoint for the paper 1 reading exam based on extract from Liam O’Flaherty’s short story, ‘THE SNIPER.’ The questions included are for the info retrieval and language questions. Model answers and extract included.

A mock exam I have made using an extract from Normal People by Sally Rooney. Exam paper, mark scheme and PowerPoint provided. Also included is a video on the mock made by an examiner.
Run-on sentences is one the most common errors students make in their writing. This lesson will focuses on how to correct them. The students will learn ways to help properly write two complete sentences (independent clauses) in one sentence by using the correct punctuation and conjunctions. PowerPoint & worksheet (with answers) included.
Fun starter. The students have to name a different animal for each letter of the alphabet. The PowerPoint has a lot of fun images, answers and gifs. The students love this!

Fun anagram starter. The students are given a list of 12 landmarks. All of the letters have been jumbled up. They have an allotted time to unscramble all 12. Activity and cut-out cards included. My students love it.
A revision paper on Q5 (the evaluation question) on the paper 1 reading exam. It is for the EDUQAS exam board but could be used for any. It is based on an extract from the Sally Rooney novel, Normal People. My students enjoyed it. Aimed at grade 4-6 students. The following are included:
