Tarsia Math Puzzle: MULTIPLICATION & DIVISION BY 10, 100, 1000 In this activity, students will practice multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and 1000, as they piece together the pieces of each tarsia puzzle (5 DIFFERENT PUZZLES INCLUDED). Students will match their answers with a separate puzzle piece until all the math problems have been solved and the puzzle is completed. These MATH TARSIA PUZZLES are a FUN way for students to practice their multiplication facts that doesn’t involve a worksheet. The puzzle activity works well for individuals, as well as small groups. Alternatively, you can set up stations around the room, and have students or groups rotate to each station for a new math puzzle/game. UNITED STATES GEOGRAPHY INTERNET SCAVENGER HUNT This internet scavenger hunt (webquest) is a great way for students to learn about the geography of United States (including physical landmarks, elevation (height), size, national/state boundaries and population), while enhancing their internet research skills. An ANSWER KEY, student web links and teacher directions are provided. The Internet Scavenger Hunt can be done as a whole class, in small groups, individually and even at home as part of distance or remote learning. This resource is not only google classroom friendly, but also includes printable and editable formats (PDF and Word). Choose the format that best fits your needs. Tarsia Puzzle Templates: Compilation of 8 different puzzle templates! These tarsia vocabulary puzzles provide a hands-on, engaging way for students to learn, practice, and review vocabulary. They’re also great for warm-up/bell ringer activities or assessments. These puzzles, sometimes known as Tarsia puzzles, can be used for multiple grade levels and any subject that uses vocabulary. This collection of 8 blank templates allows you to create puzzles on a variety of topics. The hard work has already been done for you. All of the puzzles are completely editable, by building the collections of different shapes and adding the text boxes (all done in Word). All you need to do is fill in the text boxes with your chosen vocabulary, math formulas, root words, etc. You can also come up with your own shapes by either adding or removing pieces from the existing templates. The 8 vocabulary puzzle templates are ranging from 8 terms (8 pieces) to 30 terms (24 pieces). Virtual field trips are an amazing tool to use to take students on fun learning experiences from the comfort of your classroom (or living room during distance learning!). This virtual field trip is about AMERICAN LANDMARKS, where the students will have the opportunity to explore 9 different landmarks in America. First they will visit Independence Hall, the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Monument. Then they will visit Mount Rushmore, the Alamo, the Gateway Arch and the Grand Canyon. Finally, they will go and learn more about the Statue of Liberty and the Golden Gate Bridge As the students go through the virtual field trip, they will be asked to complete an accompanying* scavenger hunt* by answering open-ended questions about the different places they are exploring.
