This resource is aimed at Year 3 and 4 students who are beginning to explore fractions as a whole. The resource contains a gradual build up to addition of fractions, with the same denominator, using pictorial representations. Children can use a range of manipulatives to aide their exploration of adding fractions while consolidating their knowledge that a fraction is part of a whole. Broken up in to ten spellings per week, (eleven weeks in total) this resource uses the popular look, cover, write, check approach and covers the entire year 3/4 spelling list. Spellings are featured in alphabetical order but also included is a template to enable you to add spellings for yourself to consolidate or rearrange as you require.

This complete lesson is focused on enabling children to generate and choose effective adjectives. Using WW2 as a context, children explore the role of an adjective in a sentence before having the opportunity to generate their own. Children will be given the tools to improve word choices by using both digital and conventional resources. This pack includes; an interactive whiteboard, PowerPoint presentation, starter activity, main activity hand out and a full lesson plan. The lesson is aimed at Year 3 and 4 children but could be adapted to suit the needs of KS1 and Upper KS2.
