This lesson works on the skill of retrieval, but with a spag twist! -children match up techniques/word classes and definitions -children read chapters 28-29 of Land of Roar children retrieve examples for different word classes/techniques! This year 6 writing mat covers the essential features needed for a newspaper. I give this to children when they are writing newspaper articles and/or editing them. It is up to the children to use the mat to edit their work so it is in line with the expectations for that genre.
