Includes powerpoint presentations, flashcards, mini-word cards for matching activities, maths symbols to aid the use of German numbers for simple mathematical problems and a handy poster which could also be printed as a reference sheet for pupils. The figure and word flashcards could be printed back-to-back so you always have them both to hand!

A powerpoint presentation and set of resources to introduce some of the French-speaking countries, adaptable to enable substitution of alternative countries and able to be used both as a stand-alone context and as a spring-board for application of grammar knowledge (gender) in a number of contexts e.g. geographical location, climate, transport, personal identification etc. Th powerpoint offers a carefully structured lesson or set of lessons (depending on how much use the teacher wants to make of the resources and cross-curricular opportunities), which will enable pupils to understand, recognise and read aloud the words for some French-speaking countries, as well as developing dictionary skills to find gender identifiers. Each resource comes with notes and suggestions for use (notes are also given on individual slides in the powerpoint) and some are differentiated. Most suitable for KS2/lowerKS3

This resource comprises 3 support placemats provided as a powerpoint, intended to be printed and laminated and routinely made available to pupils. Together, they offer graduated support, starting with commonly used vocabulary i.e. numbers, colours, days and months; moving on to help with improving basic sentences, for example via the use of conjunctions, opinions, frequency phrases, and the selection of determiners; and finally, providing assistance and models for more independent and varied sentence building, including the selection of verbs, the addition of adjectives, and the application of some grammar. The placemats can be used in conjunction with resources from any topic area to encourage independence, support differentiation, and help pupils to achieve the progression in their writing and speaking required by the National Curriculum Programme of Study.
