This series of three fun and original collective worship sessions has been designed to develop children’s understanding of the value of wisdom. Each session focuses on a different feature of ‘being wise’: Seeking Help Dealing with Hazards Collaborating Each session follows a similar structure for developing children’s knowledge and understanding: -Gathering: bringing the worship together, thinking about the key themes and vocabulary; -Engaging: Using a variety of strategies to engage the children in the main idea, before linking the theme to different stories and quotes from the Bible (with a range of discussion opportunities); -Reflecting: Relating the key ideas to a modern context and the lives of the children, thinking about what has been learnt and can be applied; -Sending: Opportunities for linked song and prayer. These whole class reading sessions aim to develop children’s comprehension skills, whilst introducing them to the novels of popular author Emma Carroll.
