Based on the popular game show ‘Pointless’, this resource is perfect for use as a whole lesson resource, enrichment option, or revision tool. Editable, so that you can change to any other topic or change questions. (I’ve also added a blank template so that you can make your own games from scratch). This clear, detailed and visually-appealing resource offers a complete reference point for children learning or revising knowledge of ‘special people’ in RE. It contains comprehensive sections on:

Writing Adventure Stories - Lower KS2 Knowledge Organiser!

DT Mechanisms - Wheels and Axles - Designing!
This engaging and purposeful series of lessons enables children to gradually develop towards constructing prototype vehicles using wheels and axles. The resources were originally created to guide children towards building safari buggies, but the resources can easily be adapted to fit your own particular project.
This is the second lesson in the series, which enables children to:
-Recall how wheel and axle mechanisms work;
-Recall key terminology relating to wheel and axle mechanisms;
-Understand a clear design brief;
-Understand the key considerations of the design, including the effectiveness of the mechanism, and the functionality and appearance of the vehicle;
-Complete their plans, using the well-structured planning sheet;
-Peer and self-assess their designs in relation to the success criteria.
Included is an eye-catching and comprehensive 14-slide PowerPoint presentation, and the design template (in both Word and PDF - A3).

Victorians Non-Fiction Guided Reading Texts and Activities!
Included in this resource pack are three non-fiction information texts, with corresponding activities, about the following areas of Victorian life:
-Life for Rich and Poor Victorian Children;
-Chimney Sweeps;
-The Life of Queen Victoria.
The activities aligned with each text become progressively more difficult, allowing children to showcase different skills, including: retrieving, interpreting, inferring, identifying, analysing, evaluating and creating. This enables you to tailor the learning to children’s individual needs.
All files are provided as PDFs and Word files (in the zip files). I have previously used these resources with Year 3, 4, and 5 children.
Fireworks Night Assembly!
This fun and original assembly is designed to teach children all about Firework Night, including:
-Why we have firework night (the Gunpowder Plot);
-Why firework night is fun for so many people;
-How firework night can be dangerous without safety precautions;
-Top tips for staying safe on firework night.
The slides are visually-engaging and well-presented, and the subject matter is tailored to the interests and needs of young people. A script is provided (in both Word and PDF formats) for playing out the events of the gunpowder plot. It includes links to well-chosen videos to emphasise/ reinforce key points, in addition to suggested entrance and exit music.
There is enough here for a 30/ minute assembly (it is 17 slides long, plus a 3 page script), but of course you can cut bits out/ tailor to your own individual needs. No further resources are required, everything that you need to present the assembly is included.The assembly was originally pitched at primary-aged children (KS1-KS2), but would be suitable for older children with only minor vocabulary/ language adaptations.
The assembly is tried and tested and has always been received well. Hope that you find it useful!
Adam and Eve - Assembly/ Collective Worship!
This engaging and original assembly/ collective worship session aims to provide children with an understanding of the parable of the story of Adam and Eve and ‘The Fall’, with a key focus on its moral meanings and how they can be applied in modern life.
The colourful and comprehensive presentation guides children through:
-Remembering what the Bible teaches about creation in Genesis 1;
-Watching a video about the creation of humans and understanding that Christians believe that Man was made in God’s image;
-Reading the story of ‘The Fall’ (using the script provided - this works best when children read/ play the different roles);
-Demonstrating an understanding of the story by answering questions about the plot events;
-Reflecting on the deeper meanings of the story - how people are imperfect and have free will, but have a responsibility to look after the world around them;
-Considering how these teachings apply in the modern world;
-Considering how they can apply the key message to their own lives;
-Participating in related song and prayer.
This worship session is tried and tested, and has always been really well received in the past. The slides are visually engaging and well-presented, and the subject matter is tailored to the interests and needs of young people. If everything is kept in, it takes around 30 minutes to deliver, but you may choose to edit or amend some elements of the session.
All links to videos/ hymns are included in the PowerPoint as hyperlinks. No further resources are required - everything that you need to present the session is included!

DT Mechanisms - KS1 Sliders and Levers - Researching!
This engaging and purposeful lesson enables children to understand what slider and lever mechanisms are and consider their uses.
The lesson was originally taught as a part of a series of lessons created to guide children towards creating polar slider and lever scenes, but the resources can easily be adapted to fit your own particular project.
This first lesson helps children to:
-Understand what slider and lever mechanisms are;
-Consider objects, vehicles and tools that use slider and lever mechanisms;
-Understand how slider and lever mechanisms work, including introducing children to the key vocabulary (e.g. bridge, slot, pivot, etc);
-Begin thinking about design considerations for creating a polar slider/ lever mechanisms picture.
Included is an eye-catching and comprehensive 17-slide PowerPoint presentation, and a research template (in both Word and PDF).
These lessons were originally created for children in years 1-2, but may be adapted for slightly older and younger year groups. The other lessons in the series are available on this site individually, or all of the lessons can be purchased as a part of a bundle.
Show, Don't Tell - Writing About Emotions!
This engaging and highly-purposeful lesson enables children to write about emotions and feelings using vivid imagery.
Children learn how to show, not tell in their writing, focusing on precise details relating the senses. This helps to make their writing more immersive - painting an image in the mind of the reader with their words.
Children learn through:
-Defining and understanding what is meant by showing, not telling;
-Considering how each of the major emotions/ feelings can be shown;
-Turning their ‘showing’ simple sentences into compound and complex sentences;
-Editing and enhancing their showing sentences through consideration of precise verbs, adverbs and the use of analogies.
