Teach your students all about simple sentences and compound sentences with this comprehensive resource bundle comprising of an editable Power Point presentation, editable note-taking (Cornell style) sheets, Interactive Notebook Templates, Print-n-go sheets, posters and 32 Task Cards.
Are you teaching your students all about chance and probability and looking for fun hands-on probability activities? This print and digital (google slides) bundle of probability worksheets will reinforce the understanding of theoretical probability, experimental probability, language of chance, sample space, predictions, lists, tree diagrams, dependent probability events and independent probability events.

3b. Experimental Probability:
Dice roll to find the number of trials and relative frequency of the numbers rolled.
Group experiment to toss a coin a given number of times and record the total heads, total tails, total outcomes, and relative frequencies of heads and tails (fractions and decimals) for each group. This is to prove the law of large numbers that indicate that as the number of trials increase, the relative frequencies tend to get closer to the expected value (0.5) of tossing a coin.
Word Problems for both theoretical and experimental probability outcomes:
This section features ‘Work with Teacher’ and ‘Student Practice’ pages. The ‘Work
with Teacher’ page will enable you to demonstrate the solution for each problem.
I work on the PDF version of the file on the I-pad. This is projected on the interactive whiteboard (via a VGA cable) as I show annotations and working out of the problems.
The ‘Student Practice’ pages will enable your students to practice the problem-solving strategies modeled by you in the ‘Work with Teacher’ pages. Problems are the same format with only a change in the numbers.

PowerPoint Presentations - 125 Slides
The 125 slide PowerPoint presentation on Chance and Probability is broken down into six separate presentations for ease of use:
Language of Chance and the Probability Scale
Probability with dice
Probability with spinner colours
Probability with playing cards
Probability with crayon colours
Probability: mixed problems
Recommended Use
You may choose to present these presentations in any order except for presentation 1 and 6 which need to be presented first and last.
All 125 slides feature animations.
Not just visual learners, but all students will benefit from the visual animations that make abstract and complex content more concrete.
As a teacher, you will find that there is no preparation needed to teach this often difficult-to-understand math topic; simply play the slides for students to take notes on their note-taking sheets. All answers to practice examples are on the slides themselves.
2. Guided Notes - Cornell Style Note-taking Sheets
The 32 note-taking sheets are to be used in conjunction with the 125 PowerPoint presentation slides.
The layout of the note-style sheets is similar to Cornell-style notes. The left side features terminology and points to remember while the right side provides scaffolded notes on the lesson and practice examples.
Pick a presentation topic and play each slide one at a time giving enough time for students to record the missing information. They will be writing down information and solving practice examples from the PowerPoint presentation written in red text.
Students will be very engaged as they are not just watching you present the slides but in addition, they are actively documenting information.
Also Included
Teacher-guided notes to use as reference with the presentation.

MATH LIB ACTIVITY:
My students really enjoyed this activity – I’m sure your students will too! I cut out and laminated the ten task cards. I then tacked them to the wall with Blu-Tac (this way cards don’t get lost if they were left on students’ desks – it also gets students up and moving), Students then write the ratio to solve on their recording sheet, simplify it and look for their answer from the list of options. They write the word against the selected option in the ‘fill in the blanks’ section. The end result is a spooky message. You will find that this is a far more interesting way of answering a multiple-choice question and checking students’ answers. The cards target differentiation.

The ‘Work with the Teacher’ pages help familiarise students with the working-out of the problem so students are able to attempt the ‘Work with a Partner’ pages either with a partner or independently. These pages adopt the same approach to solving the problem similar to the ‘Work with the Teacher’ pages. The word problems are also similar, just featuring different digits to reinforce problem-solving strategies and set up all students for success. The ‘Work with the Teacher and a Partner’ pages would be more suitable for students willing to take on more of a challenge.
♦ Detailed answer key for all problems that can be projected on an interactive whiteboard for explicit teacher explanation.
